Game Day Rituals or Superstitions???

Folks..what is your game day ritual or superstitions???

Early Games: Wife and i get up early make a pot of Coffee get out our Steelers Coffee cups where we pour a cup of Coffee and perform a toast hoping for a great game with no injurys and a Win. The wife and i put our Steelers gear on and go to Breakfast then return home and get ready for the game.


Late Games:All the above except for returning home after Breakfast we run errands and visit family members who are not Steeler fans but Cowboys, Cardinals, 49ers, and Raiders oh yeah!!! we are flunting it baby!!!! We later return home and prepare snacks for game time and just relax until game. Go Steelers!!!

 

Pace back and forth till kickoff. Then during the game I pace back and forth lol. I'm down to wearing just one article of steelers clothing. Any more than that it seems everything falls apart.

 

I haven't wore any of my gear since the winning started and usually just grab my towel. However I did wear my Kevin Greene jersey during the redemption Sunday game so I'm toying with the idea of getting it out again.

Believe it or not, can't drink beer during the game. Last time I did that was the first Balltimore game last year, when we're lining up for a field goal to put the game out of reach with what, a minute to go? Missed the field goal, lost the game. Now, no matter how out of reach a game looks, can't pop one until the game is officially over.

 

I have so many it would be ridiculous to list them all. If I mess up one aspect of my day I feel it will be my fault if they lose. Being very careful today. For the playoffs many of these traditions go back decades. My second terrible towel comes into play today. Hopefully next week the 3rd one will be in play.

 

If one brand of beer is not working I switch to another

 

Not really a ritual, but just a way to fill the void and pass the time. I usually golf if the Steelers are Thur, Sunday, or Monday night. It wasn't the plan until the game-time changed.
40 degree golf today.

 

Well I've been wearing this Pirates Hoodie and Ward jersey since Thanksgiving and I bought a Steelers hat in PGH that same game so I have worn them every game.

Well I have a few, for starters in the predict the score I pick against the Steelers every week. I then have a Steeler shirt and Sweats I put on about a half hour before the game and take back off right after.....this has been going on the last 8 weeks. I have a shot or two of Jim Beam Apple and been drinking some Woodchuck Cider during the games. I always sit in the same spot and I stay off the internet...my phone is usually blowing up with other Steeler fan friends and fellow NFL fans talking about the big plays like Dupree's hit last week. I know I have more and if the wife and kids were on here they would be able to tell you them!

 

I don't have any.

 

I think you'll be fine - you won't have to change - on the box of Pampers it says "Up to 20 lbs".

 

I don't talk smack with fans of the other team beforehand. It has bitten me more times than not. Just don't want the bad karma. In fact I just deleted a post on FB I made earlier. I'm hoping the few KC fans I'm friends with hadn't seen it lol!

Also, I will wash Steelers gear if I'm wearing it during a loss.

 

I use to have a "Game Day" menu where I would eat the whole game. It seems every time I have done this, we have lost.

 

I haven't shaved since the first win of our 9 gamer so far

 

I try and not say anything to opposing fans before the game for the same reasons. My buddy who is a Pats fan has been baiting me all morning. He just sent me a vid of the Anthony Smith guarantee. It's getting hard to not respond lol.

 

I was trying to force a joke in there which goes: "Why did the new father not change his baby's diaper for a whole month? Because on the Pampers box it says "Up to 20 lbs" (i.e. meant to be the weight of baby - not the amount of doo doo). Therefore...................your secret yet to be revealed ritual might be...........? Never mind, baby humor often goes poorly with adults.

 

Just the opposite for me..... if I don't drink a couple of beers I'm convinced the steelers will lose the game
