If they win the division Rodgers will probably be the MVP.

This man has opened my eyes with his speed ( 4.44 ) cutting ability , stop and go quickness, and his man miss tackles as a running back. He is a great receiving back too

Currently averaging 4.8 yards per rush and is the team's #2 receiver.

Why Tweedledum and Tweedledee ( Tomiln and Smith ) did not use him properly from the get go is beyond me...

The offense rolls when he gets a chance. He hits big plays which lead to scores. Duh.

No -- he is not a 3rd down running back at 200 pounds. But he is a heck of a receiver, who shines on outside and with zone blocking plays. He hit's the hole quickly and he's off.

Color me crazy but our offense is coming together not by coaching design, but by promoting player's due to injuries. ( Cook, and Gainwell ). Heck Rodgers might be having some fun now that he has a cace to pass and not get crushed and play in 2026!

Nothing is wrong with his arm or accuracy ( both are still very good ) and his football IQ is greater than Smith's.

Win or lose if the Lion game goes down to the wire I'll have hope we can be competitive in Playoffs. Get our ass smacked around I'll know it will be one and done if we make it.

It will be odd if we do advance and TJ Watt is not a part of it. From what I've been reading I think TJ has played his last NFL game???????????????

Its wild to see what the offense can do with explosiveness out of the backfield. We let a former first round pick walk in free agency and our RB room consists of two guys better than the one we let walk. Its... so good to see. Its been an absolute joy to not have to watch 22 carry the ball in black and gold.

What makes you think that? He will be 100% next year.

I’ve read a few reports that suggest Watt could be back for the Browns.

You enjoy watching the running game get worse? That's funny.

They say no one is more popular than the back-up QB. Apparently that is not true in Steelers land. No one is more popular than the back-up RB.

I remember when people wanted to feature Mewelde Moore.

Yeah, it's such a joy to Warren average under 3.0 YPC in some games and get outplayed by Gainwell .

You must be reading some clickbait articles because I haven't seen anybody credible post that about TJ.

Ugh, are those two still here???

If they manage to make and win a playoff game, I'll have to stand down for 1 year, but nothing in my future outlook for Steelers football has changed with regards to Tomlin needing to leave. That would only change of course with a Super Bowl appearance, which would reset the clock to 3 years of leeway...not that Tomlin or Rooney care what I or 80% of Steelers fans think.

    Clickbait for sure.

Now I'm going to be a smartass. 32 years old Watt will be 100% next season. His health may be but his best NFL days are behind him.

Not really, no. He isn't playing the same role as Harris. Warren is in that role now, and the results are predictable, the exact same average per carry as Harris had last year.

Gainwell is in Warren's old role. It's almost as if I and others who claimed that backs in the backup/third-down role are going to have a higher average per carry. No, not almost. Exactly right.

Warren as a tougher job than Gainwell just as Harris had the tougher job than Warren the last three years. This season should be making that clear to everyone, but some folks refuse to see it.

    Sure.

And neither of them (Najee or Warren) can perform that role to the level of an average to above-average RB.

This is why Najee lost his spot as a RB1 and could only get a low value contract (with some sham incentives to make the contract look much better than it was).

It's also why I think most reasonable people think that Warren won't be the RB1 next year...or at least that he should have significant competition.

Like many, I was hoping that Johnson would provide that this year. IMO a RB getting so few snaps on offense in year 1 is a bad sign. But RBs are not all that difficult to find. So I'm sure we'll throw some more mud at the wall next season.

IMO ,TJ is half the player he was. Yes I know he gets triple teamed and chipped and bla bla bla. They did the same thing to him when he was young and he kicked their ass.

I'm on the side we should not have signed him and if I'm wrong I'll owe it but if I'm right I'll start a told you so thread.

How did you feel about Warren when it was Najee and Warren?

Gainwell is not the starter and will get more favorable defensive fronts (in terms of what he is running against). He is the old “3rd down back”.
