What do you all think about him? Seems like a guy with potential that hasnt reached it.

That's kind of been his calling card since his college days, if I recall. To me, he's that guy with the blend of size, speed, and hands that you love as an outside vertical threat, shows some flashes, but never quite puts it all together.

Seems like a better compliment positioned across from a route-running technician than a Metcalf, but he's also got a substantial catch radius - with our current QBs that could be a pretty big plus. ;)

We need WR's more so than TE's.
Josh Allen made this guy work pretty well in Buffalo.
He signed a 3 year/$39mil contract with the Jags and they decided to go a different direction.

He is not a #1 but rather a guy opposite that can get open and make catches for tough yards.
He had a torn meniscus... I don't know where he is but that was 10 or 11 games into the season if I recall.
Seems like maybe it is early to return? I would think he wouldn't be much help.

I just don't know where he is as far as recovery?
If it was a minor thing, then no big deal.

I think that is the way to go with FA, to get the most value.
Find someone who was stuck behind a pro-bowler in the depth chart, someone used wrong (that would fit in the Steelers' scheme), or take a chance on someone coming off an injury.

When people want an established starter or an obvious top player, the team usually pays for the player's best year, not their usual year. (That's how the Ravens got burned by Flacco after that 3 playoff game run. He never got back to that peak.) Or they wind up overpaying because other teams are interested in that player too.

    Torn Menuscus

    6 month recovery

At best this guy is not remotely in game shape now

Kind of a crap shoot health wise

Would have to be a contract easy to get out of without a bunch of guaranteed money

He may be better off waiting and getting healthier

Looked a little more into it, appears his rehab is not going well because it was a failed physical in May for the Jaguars that led to them releasing him. Post June 1st cut.

Does that mean something bad or that he just isn’t there yet

To me it means set back because this is around 6 months now where he should be healed and then still has from now to Sept to get into game shape.

If the knee is still a bit of a question mark, can’t see us pulling the trigger. I think the Jags are still paying him from the contract he signed last season, so maybe a vet minimum salary would be worth the risk?

He isn't anything special, but CAN hit a big play every other week or two. HE would be a nice depth add. If he heals up might be our WR2 (not a great thing) and allow less heat/pressure on Roman Wilson. If done on the cheap, makes all the sense in the world. Who would this displace? They keep Skowronek for spectial teams right?

He would at least give some threat on the other side that might allow for less double-teams on Metcalf.

They have plenty of depth. What they don't have is a viable starter opposite Metcalf.

You just had to post that bad memory. It was like you just popped the tab on your first beer and we're down 7-0.

    There's the rub.
If he had more to offer like say a Devante Adams, I might add him and let him ride IR and get heatlhy as in the long run he'd pay off.
But he is not Devante Adams... so I would pass.

I mean that was his best game in the regular season, and it shows his big play ability.

I liked him a few years ago. And I feel that there's to many targets for the bills and thats why his numbers went down.
