Every NFL Team's Worst Trade of the Last Ten Years (Bleacher Report)

"The Steelers dealt their second-round pick, along with a 2020 third-rounder, to move up 10 spots and take Bush.

While the Michigan product was widely considered the second-best off-ball linebacker in the 2019 class—behind Devin White—he was still an undersized (5'11", 235 lbs) defender at what isn't considered a premium position.

Bush racked up 109 tackles as a rookie but was also credited with an alarming 14 missed tackles that season. He suffered a torn ACL in his second season and was out of Pittsburgh after only four years.

To be fair, this deal is only bad because of the player Pittsburgh picked. We probably wouldn't be criticizing the Steelers had they drafted Rashan Gary, Chris Lindstrom, Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence or Jeffery Simmons—all Pro Bowlers drafted between No. 10 and No. 20—instead."

Really, not too bad in light of some of the deals others have made. Though the author also admonishes the Jets for the Rodgers trade, noting poor play and a broken locker room as part of the return he provided. So the guy we're still idly waiting for to replace Wilson, who was named Denver's worst move of the decade. :maintete:

Good read....The worst trade in the last 10 years in the NFL is easily the Deshaun Watson trade for the Browns!...Not even close even if the Russell Wilson trade was all-time bad for Denver

The trade for Bryce Young look awful right now for the panthers,so it deserve to be number 1 for the panthers but of course it can change....The trade to trusbisky for the bears were awful but the Claypool trade is not far behind for them!

I have to agree. The Watson trade was the worst I've seen in a really long time, and no matter what Wilson was to the Broncos.....it cost us nothing.

For Wilson,I was talking about the trade that Denver make with Seattle...I agree it cost us nothing and yes the contract and trade for Watson is maybe the worse in NFL history...This is hard to beat!

The Herschel Walker trade to the Vikings in 1989 set the Cowboys up for their dynasty in the 90's.

Both are bad, but it's hard to be worse than Watson, especially when You factor in not only the picks, but the contract.

Can't disagree with the Watson trade being the worst ever......I think that the Cousins Atlanta trade gets an honorable mention though..... Wilson to Denver has already been mentioned, and i think it is up there also.

Hard to believe that trade was 3 years ago and yet next year his cap hit breaches $80M!! And this followed by another 3 voided years. That's as bad as getting a car loan for $60K and still making $500 payments when it's got 150K miles.

Look at the 1999 draft and the players they could have drafted had they stay put

As the article says, one of the reasons that the Devin Bush trade was among the worst was due to what happened after a promising Rookie Season. Kendrell Bell all over again minus the awards. It stinks that Bush never recovered from that ACL in Year Two.

That said, still not good at all. Dexter Lawrence honestly would have been a great selection looking back on it. Even including Stephon Tuitts unfortunate end, Lawrence would have at least managed to replace Javon Hargrave.

Kendrell Bell was way better in 2001-02 than Devon Bush ever was at ILB. Plus, Bell was a 2nd round pick. Hampton/Bell was the best 1-2 pick of the Colbert era until Timmons/Woodley in '07.

I did say Kendrell Bell minus the awards; a great Rookie Season marred by a rash of misfortune.

I hear what you're saying, but those who saw both play are going to push back on grouping them too close together.

Bush looked pretty good his rookie year; Bell was a beast.

For the first half of his Rookie Season, Devin Bush was a legit DROY Candidate. It is the second half of his season that dings him.

Regardless, Bush was a bust; through and through.

Ricky Williams was a all-time bad trade, maybe top 5 ever but the Watson trade and the Cowboys-Vikings trade in 1989 are my top 2

But at least the trade for Ricky gave them a few good years with him.
Watson has done nothing. Hell remember how great everyone thought the Browns were, and they just needed a Qb, and they're worse since He got there. LoL
