As of 4:02 PM, the Baltimore Sun has yet to report that the Ravens "allegedly" released Ray Rice.

What do you mean? He's been cut, there's nothing alleged about it. I don't care what the Baltimore Sun reports, he's finished as a Raven

The first reports this morning in the Sun said that the video showed Rice "allegedly" hitting his fiance'. Article has now been edited announcing his release.

This happened in Atlantic City, the whole city is a hellhole.
And the casino it was in has just closed its doors. Perhaps that's why the video "leaked"

Good call, thanks for correcting that. I wasn't aware they closed their doors. Interesting.

That's EXACTLY where I think he should be. Lawyers make me sick. "Plea bargaining" should NEVER happen to someone that is SO OBVIOUSLY guilty! Plea bargaining is basically for people that can afford lawyers that are nothing but ambulance chasers. He should be charged with felony assault and a JURY should get to decide his fate. NOT crooked lawyers that are nothing more than the equivalent of Saul Goodman! Even IF the woman doesn't want to press charges the state should pick it up. It's a sad state in this dang country when you can coldcock a woman and the only punishment you get is a TWO GAME SUSPENSION FROM PLAYING A DANG GAME!!! HOW is that ACTUAL punishment?! I mean what if I drill my wife and they say "well BFT you're not gonna get to go to UPS for 2 days!" Seriously this is infuriating. I REALLY wish Goodell would get canned for this.

Someone told me about that casino closing today and said it is suspected that someone was ticked about losing their job and decided to sell this tape. Which really is a pretty despicable thing in the sense that people are PROFITING from this.

There's nothing shady about the legal system. They have a program in place due to overcrowding of the prison system. The system charged him with a felony assault, but allowed the charge to be waived if he voluntarily completed a program designed for domestic abuse offenders.

The system did what the laws allowed them to do. There was no shifting or hiding by the DA of any sort.

I'm not defending Rice here, but the system wasn't tilted in his favor by the local authorities.

Guys, calm down a little! We were all hot at the time it originally came out, but we all knew there was video out there that wasn't shown.

Breath and realize that it's not on the City of Baltimore for the crime that happened in Atlantic City, NJ.

He was indicted on felony assault by the judicial system. It just happens that they have a program in place for first time offenders due to overcrowding. They allowed the charges to be waived if he completes their program for domestic abusers. He didn't lawyer up and get out of these charges, the program was in place already!

I know man. It's really just hyperbole but it really IS irritating. I guarantee you there ARE some guys that would like to get a shot at him though. Although Riley Cooper seems to have fared well and I figured he would be carried out on a stretcher after what he did. So who knows?

That program is optional. It's at the discretion of the district attorney.

Those "programs" are not there to "solve overcrowding". They are there to help scumbag lawyers not have bad track records. Lawyers brag about getting plea bargains for guilty people. There is actually a video of a prominent politician that leaked where they talk about getting someone off for a HORRIBLE crime and they actually are LAUGHING about it. I'm not gonna post it here because that would be wrong but it is available and I only mention it to support my claim about plea bargains.

Thats the legal system but what excuse does Goodell and company have for a 2 game slap on the wrist? They only suspended him indefinitely now for damage control.

Hey, I'm not arguing that it's not bull****, but just saying there are cities were they don't have that type of program in place. I will say Aldon Smith is sweating bullets right now!

He's done for good. They had video of Senators calling him a liar and saying he should be banned with no tolerance.

Goodell is a fool and this may be the thing that brings the CBA back to the table with revisions as far as a separate entity deciding the punishments. You know the reason the Steelers players and Organization didn't vote in favor of it?!

Did that guy get hit was a domestic beef TOO? I knew he had had some trouble but I didn't know it was for that. I thought his was for acting crazy in an airport or something and transporting some illegal guns or something.

Harbaugh is doing a presser about it during MNF. Maybe he thinks everyone is watching the game and no one is listening?

It's disgusting to think that if it wasn't for TMZ, this pathetic excuse for a man would be playing next week.

Remember that about 4 years ago James Harrison was involved in a domestic abuse issue with his wife or girlfriend at his home. As I remember a call was made, she looked a little worse for wear, no charges filed. The owner of the Steelers, Mr. Rooney basically commented at the time something of the nature that Harrison's case was somewhat different, maybe more understandable because he wanted to take his son to get baptized.

So though we may want to bash the Ravens for how they handled Rice's domestic abuse, the Steelers haven't exactly been all rosy with how they have handled these things as well.

Different circumstances. He firmly admitted to what he did and didn't paint it as if she was attacking him. It wasn't remotely right what he did though. ( have to put that in there or I'm condoning it) Rooney gave that reason and it was a big misstep as I think he was trying to say too much.

Found this and it's a pretty good write-up on the issue...http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2014...-ray-rice-nfl-ravens-condemn/2/?#article-copy

Patriots owner Robert Kraft did a interview talking about the Ray Rice situation, he should be quiet he had a murderer on his team Aaron Hernandez. The guy has a tattoo on his hand that says blood (gangbanger) the Patriot way I guess.
