1 (30) Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama Fits all the Steelers' criteria: junior from a great program in a Power 5 conference. No Edge / OLB with a first round grade will be left.

2 (62) Chris Godwin, WR, Penn State Highest rated receiver left on the board.

3a (94) Justin Evans, S, Texas A & M Steelers delighted Evans is still on the board.

3b (105) Tanoh Kpassagnon, DE, Villanova Steelers higher on him than many teams.

4 (135) Carroll Phillips, OLB, Illinois Best of what's left.

5 (173) James Conner, RB, Pitt Best package of size and character.

6 (213) Samson Ebukam, OLB Eastern Washington Described as having a "Tasmanian devil style of aggression."

7 (248) Scott Orndoff, TE Pitt

 

I don't know about this, waiting until the fourth round to address your biggest need. The third round might be too high for Evans IMO.

 

Good stuff I like it. I haven't really watched Evans, but Rayshawn Jenkins would be a nice fit too imo.

Have only seen the one game of Carroll Phillips so not much to go off for me.

 

Agree with you on waiting until the fourth. Definitely should be our seecond round choice if we go Humphrey in the first.

Evans will go in the second, though. At the worst, to Dallas. Maybe earlier.

I really hate the walk the mock draft board. I check out Behindthesteelcurtain, and like their articles, but they have some fan favorites over there who find their way much further up the draft board then is realistic (check out Joe Mathis and Kai something or other, safety). It is a very Steeler-centric draft board, moving people up the board according to our needs, not neccessarily by where they really should be.

 

I think all of the players will be available when the Steelers draft. Perhaps not Marlon Humphrey, and that depends on whether there will be a run on corners. People have Tyus Bowser going in the first round in some mocks, and in the second in others.

I believe there isn't one Edge rusher who fits the Steelers' criteria for OLB completely, and we may see them pass on some defensive end types that have received a lot of hype.
