I know we don't do it but about 1/2 way thru this past season Paul Kruger really turned into an uncrackable beast at times....I dunno what kind of $$ it would take to get him but i would think it would be a little less than we are paying Deebo right now and Kruger is only 26....
That would set us at LB for a while and he's NASTY......An stealing him from the Rasins would be a plus!

I know they said they were going to explore free agents but my question is where is the money coming from to sign them. They would sign Lewis before any free agents and I honestly don't see them being able to afford that.

we don't have money to pay anyone more than a vet min , cutting harrison save only his base salary not the dead money and we are cutting people because we are already 15 milion over the cap with 3o people under contract

You can expect this year to be much less exciting than last year was in terms of FA signings.

I doubt they will be able to sign someone like Kruger.

they could always draft both of his brothers this year. that's as close as we may get to him. actually they may not be bad pickups either. that could lure him at a later date. we could have the kruger brothers and the pouncey brothers. it could be like the friggin catalina wine mixer. LOL:lolol::cool:

Keenan Lewis. Thats the only free agent we should be worried about this offseason.

I was thinking though...with the mass exodus, will we get a lot of comp. picks next year?

Depends on what type of contract they sign (if any), playing time, stats, etc...theres a crap load of stuff that goes into determining this. But yes we could get a few...and possibly better than the ones we have been. Wallace could earn a 3rd rounder if he signs a nice contract and does well.

yes and if we cut some big names we should have more cap to work too , seems we have to take this season as a work in progress

You understand that if we cut players we will still be responsible for some part of their salary right? Some players could be a pretty big hit. Then you have to pay the player who replaces them. In some cases you could end up being worse off money wise and talent wise.

yes for this season but in the next one you have free up the cap space , the post was talking about compensatory pick that we would have in the 2014 draft so i was saying let's take all the hit this season and solve the cap problem for the 2014 + the comp pick

No, I don't think a lot of people do realize that. I think I just read somewhere that cutting JH will hurt more then if we keep him but even if that's not true with him, it is true with others.

if we cut harrison we save 5 milion and we eat 4 milion dead money if we cut colon we save 5 milion we eat 3,5 , but next season you have clear 15 milion without any other dead money , if you keep them we have the same problem of now .

I've said it before with Kruger - while, yes, he has blossomed now, he was certainly under fire at the start of the season for not producing to expectation. And there is no guarantee that he will keep it up next season. In that sense, he is not an upgrade to what we have now.

I've only read that they'd save about 1.2 mil if they cut Colon. Thats what most peoples biggest arguing point in cutting him this year is (say versus next/if at all). Is it won't save much money.

colon is due to earn 5 milion this season and 5 milion next season if you cut him now you save his salary but you have the dead money of 3,5 . so is 1,5 at the end but you clean the cap for 2014 ,otherwise you are in the same boat next year , soon or later we have to take the hit and move on .

Colon is a little different situation than some others. If we cut him we have a replacement for him already in the roster. Who's going to replace Harrison or Troy as these must be the big names you are talking about? How much is it going to cost? Some people here said to cut Woodley, explain that one to me.

if was not for the age i would try to trade woodley and keep harrison but since one is younger harrison has to go anyway we can afford to pay him then troy if he don't take a pay cut what you do you restructure him killing our cap space in the future i don't know probably we should extend ben lowering his cap and restructure brown timmons . with woodley it's a problem does he make you confortable his performing ? worilds can play , maybe robinson or carter too . at the end i will release colon harrison (sigh) talk with troy and woodley to see if they take a pay cut o restructure with different salaries , but i really don't know i hope they have clear what to do because we are in trouble
