who would you like to see and why?

james daniels G/C from the bears is one i'd like to see. i think he'd be rock solid and give us center guard flexibility on the interior. 33-1/2 inch arms as well.

akello witherspoon of course. i think he helped a lot. like to see him make here a home.

montravius adams is another. helped the interior of the d-line. get alualu back and this rotation could be solid.

jamis winston. i think he responded pretty well with coaching in NO. interceptions came way down.

that would be a start.

    Witherspoon and Adams for sure.

Some external FAs I'd kick the tires on without knowing cost and other factors...

    Mitch Trubisky
    DJ Chark
    Sony Michel
    Maliek Collins
    Brian Allen
    Kevin King
    DJ Reed
    Donte Jackson

Do you really think Canada and his crew can provide the same coaching and discipline Winston had in NO?

Witherspoon and Adams have earned a place.

Absolutely. Will challenge Rudolph and Haskins. A one year prove it.

This would be a solid pick up and they have the means to pay this season and it is a need.

Rumor is he will gets a massive contract from the Bears. He would be a solid pick up for sure.

Won't cost an arm and leg, six years in the league.

I'm intrigued by Donte Hightower. I can't trust Bush and Shobert.

That would be a good signing but don’t know it he would want to come here. His career has suffered because of bad QB play. At this moment in time, Rudolph is our QB.

We haven’t had a true deep threat like that in along time though, I’d love that signing.

Sure, there are things we don't know, as I indicated. Maybe Jax still wants him and he wants to stay there. And maybe he's looking for a big number. I'd love to add him and with the recent mess in Jax, and his injuries, there may be a way to get him here for a reasonable contract. If not him, I really would like to add a solid vet WR to DJ/CC before heading to the draft.

The ILB play was awful but I just don't like any of the FAs there. Maybe the FO likes someone and/or works a trade. I hope they do something other than keep what we have and add a ~3rd round pick.

Winston got away with a lot of sling it and pray and receiver comes down with it type passes at FSU. There’s was so much talent on those teams he could get away with it. But it worked . . . In college.

There are and I think they can get a talented WR in a mid round. DJ, CC, FA, Ray2, Pick is how I see the 5 they carry. That's assuming Juju and Wash are out.

We rarely make slash FA signings. Perhaps this year will be different with more needs and more cap space. C, AND Dl depth, ILB and CB are all real areas of need, oh yea S, QB, and WR..RB as well. Thus just might be the year where sign them all makes sense. Lol

So true. I looked at a recent mock draft and the first 20 players selected. The Steelers would have filled a need with any of the selections.

He could opt to stay there with Lawrence and Pederson or he may want a fresh start. It’s not the best run organization.

They will have to do some work in free agency this year. The line is where I would start but if they have enough to pick up a receiver as well, Chark would be a good choice.

    My list starts with

Foye Oluokun ILB from Atlanta. Led the league in tackles last year. He is not Ray Lewis, but I think he could be James Farrior like in Pitr. Give him the green dot and put him next to Bush. If Bush bounces back we have a very good tandem if not then Foye just replaces him outright going forward

Cordarell Patterson WR/RB/ RETURNER in Atlanta... he is the change of pace RB2.. he is the gadget that Canada wants... put the ball in his hands and watch him work

DJ CHARK WR Jacksonville.... depending on what happens with JuJu. He is going to cost more thanJuJu.. and while JuJu works the slot...Chark gets seperation and can take the top off deep

Marquez Valdes-Scantling. WR GREEN BAY....I don't think he works underneath as well as Chark... but he can stretch the field. I would have him in the replace Washington area. Might be able to get both JUJU and MVS for the the money Chark might cost.

Phillip Lindsay RB MIAMI. The lightning to Najees thunder

Marcus Mariota QB VEGAS... if the Steelers don't go get one of the unicorns..Mariota seems to fit what Canada wants to run... Im not interested in any QB in the draft.... so at best I want a unicorn or just add Mariota to the competition

Bryce Callihan SLOT CB DENVER. Need to replace Mike Hilton

Ben Jones C Tennessee...excels in zone blocking... if it works for king Henry... it can work for a few years for the Naj

Laken Tomlinson G SAN FRAN. I would prefer him over Trai if we spending real money.

I prefer to build the oline in the draft but only so many picks to fill a lot of holes

Obviously the Steelers need to get some of there own taken care of. Witherspoon, Ray Ray etc... but those guys are the main externals I'm looking at.

    .
I feel although Hightower has 9 years in he still is a better option then both Bush and Shobert and has played at a high level. They need help in the worst way and need to find some options.

That Shobert contract is nuts. Needs to take a pay cut or be cut.

I see the Steelers being much more active in free agency this year. That’s not a bold statement. Because of the cap crunch last year and one year contracts 3/4 of the teams are going to be more active.

Therefore, in the first week of free agency I predict the Steelers sign……no one. That first week players are over paid. That’s not the Steelers style. Let other fools do that. After that, there are going to be a lot of valuable vets available at fair contracts.

Even with cap space, I do not see the Steelers making a bunch of huge FA signings

I think a good possibility of a back up RB to Najee, a guy who is going to be the 3rd or 4th option at WR, pending they don't resign Juju again.

Probably looking at some investment along the O-Line perhaps Center or RT
