I know Steelers are against the cap, but I'm not seeing the Steelers solely using the draft to reload.

I think a lot of teams will be unloading players. Ravens are going to have to pay Flacco and Ray Rice in the same offseason, they could wind up letting go of some really good players. Ben Grubbs and Jameel Mclain possibly?

Who are some guys you think the Steelers will target?

Expensive players like Grubbs? No....but there could be some mid to lower level players that they might look at.

Is Keyron Fox a FA? I could see us bring in a couple key vet FA at a discounted price on a one or two year deal. I agree there will be tough decisions made throughout the league as there is any increase in cap space this year and clubs pushed the envelope last year not knowing if there was even gonna be a cap ever again.

If someone would post the top ten teams in cap space and if they correspond with teams with a high draft position and already has a solid nucleus of players we may get a glimpse of next year's potential contenders.

I think gpguy has said it best.

I'm a member on ESPN Insider and they've mentioned NT Paul Soliai to the Steelers several times, and then in the same article say his agent wants Haloti Ngata money...

Makes me wonder if the people that write the articles even follow football.

ESPN is run by morons. I honestly believe they know nothing about football. They're all personality and little knowledge.

Not disputing or disagreeing that ESPN is run by morons, I just don't see the link between that conclusion and what's been posted. While it's quite true that Soliai is not the player Ngata is, and Ngata has played more DE, it's also quite possible that Soliai's agent want Ngata money. Whether he get's it, that's another matter. Not sure how ESPN, buffoons though they may be, is demonstrating it here.

Exactly. While Soliai would be great...he made over $12 mil last yr on the franchise tag. He's going to want big money...and the Steelers do not have it.

The fact that they think he will want Ngata type money yet still believe he's likely going to go to the Steelers is why I made that comment. When have the Steelers ever made huge splashes in FA like that?

    +1

The fact is, even if he didn't want top tier NT money, we probably still couldn't afford him. The Steelers will be something like 30 mil over the cap and ESPN thinks it's somehow logical that they will sign him.
