I agree. I believe Queen was a disappointment and probably the reason they got roquan smith as you say.
$14 million a year is a lot if he’s a bust. But worth it if he’s a solid starter for three years.

 

I think Cowherd and Madden are lovers.

 

Got to solidify that center first. And CB in the draft isn't looking good for a starter after Kool-aid. So we need to get someone in FA or trade a 3rd round.

There are only 2 QBs that have beaten Mahomes in the playoffs. One is Tom Brady, and the other is Joe Burrow.

Injuries is the reason I was glad the Steelers passed on Hennesy. With Arthur Smith history I feared they would sign this guy even though he had back to back season ending Kneee injuries.

 

You're not wrong...but has an injury history and his surrounding cast is weaker today than two years ago IMO.

 

correct - his supporting cast gets weaker EACH YEAR as he eats more and more of the % of the salary cap.

But - he is AMAZING - hard to beat in the biggest games.

 

Don't expect much splash plays from this guy, that is all I'm saying ... he is a really good #2 LB.

They overpaid, just my opinion ... for those that care.

 

but....reading that Burrow's hand injury is / was bad, very bad (career changing possibly)

I am expecting the TEAM to play better - our D needs to be TOP 5, have not been that in a LONG TIME. He can help us get there.

TJ and Minkah can provide the splash.

they did not overpay - when you suck at a position, you have to go and BUY IT

 

Sorry not looking it up so this a bit lazy of a response...but I don't think it is an overpay for a 24 year old stud LB. I liked the hopeful James Farrior comparison...did James "splash"? We don't necessarily need splash...we need consistency and attitude in the middle.

 

Had a long talk about that with my sports fan doctor when I hurt my wrist this winter. In short, He says they replaced the ligament connecting the two wrist bones but expects a 100% recovery.

 

Well farrior isn’t an exact comparison. Jets tried to use him as an outside LB. Not his strength. We put him at ILB and he did great. Queen was an ILB the whole time and it kinda scares me he didn’t do well until riquan smith got there.

 

Adding a Safety, who lets Minkah go back to playing centerfield would be huge. That with another DL and CB should make this unit very good.

 

Haven't done a lot of catchup with this thread so I'm sure I missed it but any word on Patrick Queen?
