Traded to the Chiefs for a 1st and 2nd round pick. Wow. Steep price.

Sheesh. Can't we get at least get a 3rd for Bud?

Very steep. They are already against the Cap and have big extensions due soon to Hill and Mahomes. Clark will want 15-20m a year, and they have given away two premium picks. Hard to see what the plan is there.

    Chiefs Wire:

Remember, the Chiefs will gain $9.5 million on the cap on June 1, when Eric Berry’s contract finally comes off the books. They can use that money to sign their rookie class and commit a huge chunk of the salary cap total in 2019 to Clark.

The first three years of Clark’s deal will probably be jam-packed with that guaranteed money, and to offset that the Chiefs will likely look to backload future contracts for players like Chris Jones, Patrick Mahomes and possibly Tyreek Hill. They likely feel comfortable doing that with a player like Mahomes, who they intend to keep for the length of his NFL career.

The trade for Clark and the accompanying contract extension are a strong indication the Chiefs are committed to getting to a Super Bowl soon. They got a taste of playoff success last season, and they’re committed to building a new defense to help them get there.

Yeah clearly going for it in 2019. They will have a tricky task managing that cap in future years but could be well worth it.

Looking at what is coming out about Hill they are probably going to have to cut him. He is facing a long suspension at best.

Agreed but what does that say about Frank Clark. His checkered violent past is also well documented.

How do you get rid of hunt, then hill and then keep Clark?

Hill only fell so kindly to the Chiefs in the fifth because of his issues. He was a risky pick and is clearly a nasty character, I have no sympathy at all for him. I hope his child gets the support that he needs. The sad thing is that somebody else will pick him up. Chiefs selecting Hardman virtually confirms he is being cut.

It’s all a pr juggling act. There are murmurings of Clark’s indiscretions but it’s not mainstream news, it was dealt with and he has kept his nose clean as far as we know. Hill is big news, and Hunt was when he was cut too. That’s just the way it is.

You are correct when I posted that comment. DA was not going to press charges.
Hill could be done in the NFL. I hope the young boy can live a normal childhood and become
    a productive citizen.

    "John Dorsey Syndrome".

Seems as if they have not forgotten his drafting capabilities.

Wish it was not the case! :lolol:

Dorsey is a lot like former 49ers GM Trent Baalke in some ways. Both value talent over anything else. Difference is Dorsey's philosophy is from the past where as Baalke constantly butted heads with Jim Harbaugh.
