(The images and links no longer work, but the words are still there.)

I didn't realize that Gildon had less sacks after 4 years than Dupree.

Franco was a product of great blocking. He always ran out of bounds. always avoided a hit if he could.

#54 hits him in the hole and Franco just shoos him away and then once he is in the open gives some jukes, and makes them over commit and he is past them. How on earth can anyone say that is more system than talent.

#54 was Randy White, another hall of famer (probably overrated too). #43 was Cliff Harris, 6 time pro bowler, 4 time 1st team All Pro and member of the 70’s all-decade team (probably overrated too).

Yeah, why would you avoid a hit or run out of bounds when you can go head on with 300 lbs masses of muscle and turkey for no reason other than to prove your manhood.

Joe Namath is the most overrated player in NFL history. The only reason he is in the HoF is that he played in NY and he ran his mouth before the Super Bowl and his defense bailed him out (with an assist from Unitas not being healthy and not starting). Just a garbage QB with garbage stats.

I was thinking the same thing, so you inspired me to go back and vote.

Heck. Real Steel could get into double digits without breaking a sweat.

Yeah he’s probably working on his next masterpiece. As long as that last post was we probably won’t see a new one for months.

He's probably on the Bears board working up a post showing Payton was a fraud! After all, he couldn't even score in the SB! What a wimp!

You know, I didn't really read his post until you quoted it. I played ball not far removed from those formations that were so popular back then. I played what we called a tailback with a fullback in front of me, and I can't remember ever running in front of the fullback to block for him while he received the hand off. If I remember correctly, the fullback usually received the football for dives and traps which usually went around the center or guards, so his summation doesn't even make sense. I guess you guys probably already came to that conclusion though huh?

Franco sucking makes it even more strange that the Steelers lost in 76 with possibly their best defense thanks to not having any healthy RBs. You'd think replacing a plug like Franco would have been easy,.
