Urbik is still a head scratcher to this day. The guy has played solid for them. Only 3 sacks in almost 1400 snaps!! Shoot Chris Scott is the starting RG for the Panthers right now too...thought they should have never cut him also. We could have DD at LG, Pouncey at C, Urbik at RG....Scott as a backup G, Valesco at backup C/G...that would be a decent interior line with dependable backups. But what do we know...

But apparently, they wouldn't be playing at that level with the Steelers. This is why I think the talent on the line isn't all that bad. It's how they're being coached/developed. When you see Steelers' cast-offs routinely doing well elsewhere, isn't that a SIGN ?????

Maybe they just did not fit in with the two thugs from Florida.

I've said all along, that Legs should've Ben our center, and everybody's love affair (Pouncey) at guard with DD. Very athletic middle there in my opinion. Doesn't solve the tackle spots, but that would've been a good trio moving foreward. Urbik has blossomed elsewhere but that seems to happen with this and or any other team at times. Remember Vrabel? Some players can actually be coached up when given a chance.

THey never gave Urbik a shot to Blossom. They cut him his rookie year because he couldn't be a guard/tackle and play back up to everybody. I think they brought Trai Essex back because he could.....

I don't think Urbik is exactly a star in Buffalo though....

Fernando over Legursky any day of the week though.....

I agree, but he wasn't part of the equation during Legs' stay.

The thing I always liked about Legs was he could really play center and was a decent backup center which we didn't have and thank goodness Velasco did come along because he has been pretty solid.

But Urbik was really a strange call - he was basically here and gone and meanwhile he was a 3rd round pick. I always think 3rd round and above you are looking at the guy to be a starter at some point down the line. If you really didn't have a plan for them, why the hell do you draft him. The kid also came from Wisconsin, which is basically a breeding ground for big guards and tackles who can contribute to the ground game.

If I remember right, it was because he had short arms... Even with all the measurements they still took him and gave up.

It was like the Stonehenge midgets in "This is Spinal Tap" - they drafted him and said "Hey we thought your arms were 3 feet, they're only 3 inches"
