Wow, going from retired player to TV analyst to General Manager. A 6 year deal too. I have no doubt he'll put in the work but that hire is way out of left field. It says he "volunteered" himself as a candidate.

Wish I could volunteer myself into some cool jobs. Pretty sure Victoria Secret would have a new talent scout...:beg:

Got to really wonder? Boy Kyle Shanahan will have a lot on his plate.

I actually hated to hear this because I was hoping we'd sign him in the offseason. To play safety. LOL! I'm intrigued to see how this goes. Maybe he thinks he's John Elway or Ozzie Newsome. We shall see.

I wish him all the best.

He will need it to fix the San Francisco disaster.

Which is ironic, considering just a few years ago they were a Superbowl contender, but felt they had to fire the coach that got that turned that franchise around, all because he couldn't get along with a GM that they just fired. Just brilliant team strategy there. I bet they'd give anything to have Harbaugh back at this point

Said turn of events truly does amaze me.

How does an implosion of that magnitude happen that badly in such near instantenous succession?

    Owner? Maybe.

GM? Most definitley... at least from what I have seen.

Lynch was a stud while he played safety and I'm sure he'll do great as a GM. Smart guy from Stanford. Someone mentions having him play for the Steelers. I still wish the ole Polamalu was playing. Too bad they couldn't work something out with him. From what I hear, I don't like how it all went down. I guess he didn't come around the facility for a while, etc.

If Lynch doesn't rethink his coaching hire, he's already doomed. You'd be better off with a chimp after watching the play calling in the 4th quarter.
