I can only find record of him being franchised in 2010 and that was the transition. Not a exclusive. I dont think the transition tag is a bad thing as it gives players freedom to negotiate elsewhere. The exclusive is the bad one.

Love to know what it feels like to be a disgruntled millionaire:) You know what they say, money can't buy happiness. I sure would not mind testing that theory.

Yes from reading through the CBA on franchise tags it is open to interpretation on whether it should be a 2nd or 3rd tag. Will they go to court to argue that? I guess we'll see.

I agree he already penalized himself, but I would think that the NFL/Steelers would go all out to fight this so it doesn't set a precedence where multiple star players of the NFL are taking a 1 year vacation.

Just my opinion I guess I'm just disappointed, I know Conner is awesome but with Bell and him working together I just think we would have that much better chance of getting the Super Bowl we all crave!

Oh how that would hurt me. Has been great so far with the eagles having a hard time just trying to get into playoffs. I told their faithful that every year is different but they were soooooooo sure that 2 in a row would be no problem.

Not a big surprise and doesn’t hurt my feelings at all. Now the locker room can be spared from his circus.

Now... can we please move on? I don't care about Bell anymore. He will never be a Pittsburgh Steeler ever again. And we didn't win anything of significance while he was here.

I'm officially begging TTF to move any new and current Bell posts and threads to General NFL Talk :beg:
He is no longer a Steeler at this point....

I really hope this ends up a Todd Bell/Al Harris kinda deal where Bell watches his former teammates win the big game and he never sniffs another title opportunity.

That and a contract next season the equivalent or less than what the Steelers offered would make his failure complete :lollmao:

    See ya Bell

I'd love to see that but tbh I don't even know if Bell would care at this point.

you know this league leading Bell/Brown at their positions was nice and all but like you said it got us nowhere. Brown blanketed and Bell hurt in the playoffs.

This new offense where everyone gets love is dangerous, and Ben loves it.

LOL why not, why let this prick dictate if the Steelers profit off him like he denied them at the trade deadline.

Transition tag him and see if someone is foolish enough to give up 2 first rd picks. And if he signs, then you can trade him. There’s really no reason not to use that tag. If I’m thinking of the correct tag.

He and his agent want the transition tag as it will allow them to suggest to anyone they negotiate with that they need to go big or Pittsburgh will match the offer. Yes he has to suffer the indignity of going hat in hand back to the Steelers to ask if they will match but they can jack the price up past what the Steelers can possibly afford.

I disagree, I’d think they’d want the draft picks. All a team has to do is offer more guaranteed money and they know the Steelers won’t match. I really don’t think Bell wants any tag, think he just wants to be an unrestricted FA and be in full control of his destiny.
