For Tomlin haters, I challenge you to name 10 NFL coaches you'd rather have

Go ahead, name 10 current NFL coaches you think are better than Tomlin. I'll wait...

 

Now I'm confused Benny I thought you weren't a Tomlin fan?

 

I don't want a current NFL coach, the Steelers don't want retreads anyway.

If you don't think that there isn't a hot new young assistant coach out there, well i disagree.

That's always been the lame excuse that even Rooney has used who am I gonna replace him with. I as a fan don't know all the coaches out there, but I can guarantee the statement that there's nobody better is completely false. That's management's job to find that person, not mine.

 

The best NFL coaches are in their prime, top 5-10 quarterbacks.

 

It's easier for the haters Benny, they could name 44. Slippin in the material department pilgrim.

 

I've met so many people that hate the Steelers but talk about how great of a coach Tomlin is. It doesn't add up. It's like Steelers fans wanting Marvin Lewis to be the Bengals coach forever. They like Tomlin because they know come playoff time his team is going to under perform and the Steelers will lose like they want. Benny might have tipped his hand with this one.

 

Who was Tomlin in 2005?

I don't want Tomlin fired; however this is just always a silly argument to be made. One could always look at the ranks of college or NFL Coordinator for a replacement. Could that replacement ultimately be better than Tomlin? That remains to be seen. I personally think that Tomlin in Pittsburgh has gotten stale, for both sides, and a change of scenery is healthy, for both sides.

I personally would put OC Eric Bienemy at the top of my list.

Thats just current Head coaches not even diving into assistants and coordinators or other coaches. I could name a ton more if I went into the rest of the coaching Talent Pool.

I would have a harder time Naming 10 coaches that i wouldn't want over King Coat tail rider Tomlin.

 

I'm not a Tomlin hater but, I'd say Shannahan or Bienemy, I'd like to see what Eric could do.

I'd agree with Reid, Payton and Shanahan but Carroll? I'd have to turn in my Terrible Towel!

At this point i almost want anyone over Tomlin. I think he's a fraud thats been exposed a little more every year. Even if he was a good coach at some point he is past his expiration date here.

 

I'd agree with that. I just really don't like Carroll.

You had my attention until Nagy. We will see how good Payton is w/o a franchise QB. We know Shanahan is garbage w/o one as evident by last year’s performance. Arians didn’t exactly lit up the league pre-Brady. All others are fortunate to have a franchise QB.

 

Arians won Coach of the Year when he was with the Colts, no? That's an honor Tomlin has never won. Then Arians won COTY again last year.

Umm Arians was coach of the year twice before Brady. Dont get me wrong any coach would benefit from having Brady but Arians has shown to be a pretty good head coach.
