Kenny played his best game of the season thus far. The next step for him is to play a complete game. Next week is as good of a time as any for Jacksonville are serious AFC Title Contenders.

Time to see what he can really do. :herewego:

Sure, we'd all like to see that. But for that to occur, the entire offense needs to play better as well. The offensive line was terrible in the first half of that game. They were not holding up and were screwing up their protections.

They cleaned it up in the second half, and the fourth quarter was a thing of beauty.

It even looked to me like Matt Canada put some wrinkles into the playbook in this game. I saw a couple plays run out of sets that I hadn't seen before, and they worked. That's exactly what this offense needs. More creativity with the design of the offense will help. They ran a play with Conner Heyward coming back at the QB at the snap, then stopping on a dime an going out to the flat. He was wide open and resulted in a nice gain and a first down.

On that play, it looked like Canada used the same formation, the same personnel, but he added the wrinkle to the play with the motion for misdirection and quickly moving away from the flow of the play. Very good play design.

I've been tough on Matt Canada when he hasn't looked good with his design or play calling, I called him on it. If I'm going to do that, I also have to say when he does something good and something creative. He gave a couple looks and changed it up a bit in spots Sunday. This is a very good thing. The more plays and the more variations of plays that can occur from the same formations and personnel, the more effective those plays will be. Defenses have been identifying that formation and that play with the linebackers moving immediately to stone that play. With the wrinkle, defenses now have to honor that misdirection and the linebacker needs to pause and be ready to defend the TE to the flat. That small wrinkle will give that play a better chance to work when it is called now, because the defense can't fly to where they knew the play was going. The defense no longer knows what is coming....and that's a very good thing.

    Keep it up Canada.
