For those of you worrying about the defense

I agree. Boykin is new but I am 100% confident he will acclimate quickly to this defense. In a way this defense is new but in other ways its not really new.. There will be a few new wrinkles but Attack the quarterback is still the way to go lol People were actually complaining about Gay because he got steam rolled. Yeah he sucks because he got hit hard lol.. When it counts this defense will prove itself. Might not be this year but they will improve in time.

NE defense was not good and they seem to do ok. We are heading in the right direction and to use a tomlinism the arrow is pointing up

 

And look who he had for receivers in 98, Randy Moss, Chris Carter, and some pretty good 2 and 3 receivers, when he went to Baltimore they had a number 1 defense that won the superbowl for him in 2000, he never had a star QB or receiver corp: Dilfer was an average QB and the ones they got after he was traded off were jokes, like Elvis Grbac, Kyle Boller was a 1st round bust, Chris Redman was another bust, so Billick handicapped himself with what he chose for quarterbacks and it cost him his job, and he hasnt been offered a HC job since......

 

What people refuse to acknowledge or ignore, preseason is about trying different techniques and schemes each game. How else do you explain 6 sacks against Green Bay and no pass rush against Buffalo ? Perhaps they were practicing a four man rush against Green Bay?

yup and Eagles only managed 1 sack vs GB. I think we are experimenting and people are looking into the preseason too much. Look at the top teams from last year, they don't look that great in preseason right now either. GB, SEA, DAL, BAL, NE etc.
