We all know how good Ben was when he came in. However, I think even Ben as a rookie would have struggled in this offense, he still would have done better, but he may not have had the 14-0 rookie start. We had a good passing attack with Tommy Maddox when Ben took over. Think about it, aside from the great defense, Ben worked with Hines Ward, Plaxico Burress, Antwaan Randel El, Jerome Bettis, Willie Parker, Jerame Tuman. A few HOF'ers and big names.

Yep, Kenny is missing opportunities. I think part of this being fixated on throwing to the first read is due to how poorly the O-line played most of the season. No confidence in having time to throw. He seems to be getting more time lately as the O-line is getting a bit better in pass blocking, but he is stuck in a rut.

In other words, I think this regression was intentional due to O-line play. He needs to make adjustment when he sees the O-line is giving him time.

I'll tell you why I can't buy into that theory.

I've seen QB's benched for starring Rec's down.
I've seen them benched for not taking to the coaching.
I've seen them benched for making mistakes over and over. (See Trubiski/Mason)

At some point you would see a 'heated discussion' after a critical 3rd down conversion failed.

I think we are seeing a sophomore slump.
I think he's slacking into a bad habit, maybe.

I don't want to get caught up 'coming to his defense' - He's screwing up, it's that simple.

For my part, I need to step away from the toxicity.. been thinking about taking a couple weeks to fish the Florida waters and clear my head.
This season is a bit of a disappointment, no doubt.
I'll take $100,000.00 worth of equipment to try to outsmart a fish... with a brain the size of a pea.

One stat that keeps coming up is that Kenny has not been throwing interceptions. That’s great, but that’s because he isn’t being aggressive. He may be playing not to lose, but he needs to be turned loose to make mistakes and learn from them. He is still making mistakes they just aren’t quantified in the INT stat line. Peyton Manning threw plenty of INTs his rookie season and was able to learn and progress. Kenny needs to be afforded that same opportunity. We want to win, but his progress is more important than getting to a 9-8 record.

Fishing is great in more than one way. Helps You think, calms the mind, and feeds the belly.

Sometimes I'm the same, but others it matters what I'm hungry for, or how low My freezer is on fish. Either way....You still get the other two benefits.

this is exactly what I wrote on another post about what irked me about Ben!! Hell or high water he was throwing 50 yards bomb attempts and not being satisfied just moving the chains 5 times like Brady would. It made him great sometimes but other times the lack of patience killed us!! You are spot on!!!

Love that last line. I just got into shooting and have a nice S&W FPC carbine and put a prism scope on it and a weapon light for home defense that hopefully will never be needed. Thus I shoot at the range with probably a $1000 investment to shoot at a paper target, LOL.

It is better to have one and never need it, than it is to need it and not have it.

Plus, it's fun shooting paper targets.

I hear the AR guys next to me and I think $1, $2, $3, $4 as each round goes down range.

Sure there is some expense, but well worth it if you can do enough of it to be safe and proficient with your weapons but not so much that it impacts your ability to enjoy life.

If you get into this further, a good idea is to stick to the calibers that are most common and readily available. They tend to be the least expensive and they will always be manufactured.

9mm for handguns, and AR's that are able to shoot both .223 and 5.56 NATO both fit the bill. It's the least expensive way to go with calibers that still have good stopping power.

With the AR, the .223 is a very affordable round and would be the best choice for just having fun at the range. It tends to have the best accuracy. The 5.56 NATO has a little more stopping power and would probably be a little better in the field if you ever had to use it in that manner. Just make sure you get a gun chambered in 5.56 NATO. You can safely shoot .223 with that gun. You cannot shoot 5.56 NATO in a gun chambered in .223.

Of course, shoot whatever you like. I just wanted to mention that in case you were thinking about trying to keep it as affordable as possible.

    I hope you enjoy it.

How much fault could be blamed at the coaching staff for not developing well? Every player doesn’t arrive fully formed. Nobody in these coaching stations had to teach Ben anything when they got here. Who knows how good they are at that content?

PS. There are psychological positive effects from spending time in and on the water. Fishing is good for the mind and the soul.

I always feel better after a day in the stream even if I get skunked. It’s valuable time very well spent.

I have watched the OPI play many times. Yes, the offensive player veered into Austin's path, but Austin put his shoulder into the guy. That's going to be called. Austin has to take the hit there.

I was mentioning Ben's rookie season in 2004. AB and LeVeon Bell were not drafted until 2010 and 2013 respectively.

    I'm a wheel gun guy myself. Gotta 1848 Navy 44/40 I like.
But I do have several auto's, mostly .45ACPs.

    As usual, you're spot on.
I enjoy being out on the sea... though this time will be the Everglades.
I have a really good bottle of Tequilia. I'm not a big drinker, just a couple shots here and there to cruise on.
    That helps too. :steelflag:

You honestly don't think anyone on a Professional coaching staff is not pointing out to KFP what We see, what they see, what every other teams DC see, and what every HS coach can see???
