Interesting I see him on the blitz more up on the line.

I actually don't think that is Fitzpatrick's strength. The one play he blitzes in and they smartly just threw to where he was. There are plenty of players to designed to get to the QB.

Fitzpatrick is your ball hawk safety play him to his strengths imo.

I think they're trying to play him like Polamalu and don't think the shoe fits the same imo. Keep him where he's All Pro.

I agree, but You do like them to throw it in there every once in awhile. It's just when You do the backend coverage must be better.

I guess I just don't think blitzing is his strength. I think they want to re-create Polamalu 2.0

The missed sack on Purdy was brutal. That could've changed trajectory of the game.

Fitz isn't supposed to be Troy. Hell, the closet Troy there is in the NFL is Derwin James; Minkah's Draft Classmate from 2018. Even that is a bit much though as there is no Safety currently in the NFL who is the same for Troy was a 1:1 player; one that only appears once in a generation.

Regarding Minkah yesterday, that whiffed sack summed up the entirety of the lack of execution on the Defensive Side of the Ball. Then again, expect this from a secondary with so many different faces; massive miscommunication woes. The aforementioned missed sack was merely the cherry on top of a horrific cake.

    good post

we have tons of new faces on D, this was a liability that was being overlooked by many, ILB's SUCKED and secondary had NO CLUE. DLINE could not stop anything.

    we got trucked!

The closest thing to Troy plays for the Niners, in fact, they said Troy is working with him. He knocked the crap out of Pat yesterday. Hufanga

People here are displaying their idiocy by bashing guys like TJ Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick.

If they don't know what kind of players they are and how great they are, there is nothing else to say. They are exposing themselves as fools because they are upset about their team losing, and they look like idiots by belittling truly great players.

It is sort of a mystery to me what the best way to use Minkah is?

He did really well when he first got here, as the deep safety, and teams were trying to throw at him...

Then, teams just stopped throwing his way and all the other DB's started getting torched, and Minkah's stat line went down.

To me, he isn't much of a hitter or run defender, he is willing, but still not that great at it.

You can keep him back as the deep safety, but he will have a quiet game...

That's a great point. He was virtually non existent Sunday, aside from the play on Purdy I'm sure he would like to forget.

I think it is little more difficult to be more efficient as a CB than a FS on blitzing. Just my opinion.

I have gone to several message boards, and there is criticism of both players by many. They are idiots of course, but it just goes to show how desperate and ridiculous fans can be toward great players because their team lost. It's embarrassing.

There are fans saying that he only rushes the passer. Where was he on all the other plays. Many are bitching about him saying he's a bum just like every other player out there.

You're right. Sorry, I confused my message boards. It really isn't happening here thankfully.

They are getting trashed by some morons on other boards saying they can't carry the team. They are frauds. They're stealing money with their crap performances.

You can't make stuff like that up, but I should have double checked some of the posts before saying it here. I thought I recognized them by the thread title, but I was wrong. My mistake.

Thanks for pointing it out without flaming me.

TJ was pretty much the only player who played up to par Sunday. Minkah was invisible but he’s still a very good player normally.

McFarland did, he had them a bit spooked on kick off returns. They kicked away from him at the end.
