Maybe give the other running back a couple carries throughout the course of the game so he's not coming in cold, and he's spelling Connor so he's not so fatigued.

Same point I was trying to make, but I hope his legs weren't gone one game into the season.
I thought the fumble was also due to him being trapped in the backfield as soon as he got the ball and a great play by Garrett, not just him being tired.

The fumble could of happened at any time for sure. It's not a matter of his legs being tired one game into the season. It's about building up the stamina and strength throughout the season so you can perform late in games and the season. You aren't going to get in that type of condition during camp or preseason ,so having such a serious workload early your body won't be used to it....There is also a limit to how much wear and tear you can take in a game before you need time to fully recover. Conner reached that point and there was no relief in sight.

definitely. When you go back and look at teh highlights you can see how gassed he is in the fourth and his legs have almost no power behind his runs and then by the OT period he is running on fumes.

Conner just needed to wrap the ball up. Legs and reps weren’t the problem.

He was blindsided by the hit. It was very unexpected especially that quickly. Fumbles are gonna happen sometimes especially the way that the play transpired . His legs were clearly shot like thorn alluded to and it was because of the reps, which were excessive for basically his first real NFL game action. When you also factor in the adrenaline he must of had to start the game it ends up taking its toll....and it did.
