I'm not generally much of a fan of Shannon Sharpe - or any other hot take personality for that matter - but, when he's right, he's right.

 

Agreed. Trade him and get compensation. He should fetch at least 2 Ones and a Two.

The sniffers will say "Well who would replace him"? IDK? Did you know who he was when before he was hired? Please. Hopefully an Innovative Offensive coach who lives in the now. His way has passed him by.

Also the sniffers Live in their Fears. What if we have a few losing seasons? Well then the roster gets built up with a franchise QB ect. when your not picking in the 20's or lower.

Its time for a change.

Playing not to lose and playing to win are different.

 

We always play to win. Except yesterday, we did not show up.

 

Saying you had a non losing season ie 500 or better is not the same as about winning championships or playoff games. You know it, I know it and everyone else knows it. Makes we think of Sean Connery's line in "The Rock", "Losers always whine about doing their best, the winners go home and f the prom queen!"

 

Pete Carroll gone, Bill Belichick gone, Nick Sirianni (one year removed from the Super Bowl) on the hot seat, Mike mccarthy on the hot seat.. all of these coaches and teams have had more success than the Steelers over the past few years. why is Tomlin never on the hot seat? you can laugh at the cowboys and eagles failures over the years all you want, but the steelers haven't exactly been the model of success in a very long time. in fact, we've become more known for our embarrassing playoff losses than success over the years. that's a shame for a once very proud organization.

 

I have also been saying this near exact sentiment in other posts here for the past 2 years atleast.

I agree with Shannon but I believe Steven is wrong. Wrong in the fact that the quarterback will cure all the ails with the team. He had a quarterback that is fifth all time in yards, fifth all time in completions, 8th in touchdowns, fourth highest winning percentage all the time and second most come from behind victories in NFL history. Look at what he did when he had ben at his disposal. It was missed opportunity after missed opportunity.
