Faneca and Cowher are the only ones that will make it..... until Polamalu is eligible.

It's going take Hines a few tries to get in, he will get in one of these years. The media always liked Hines, and that's who votes on this stuff. But, it's tough for WR's to get in, seems to take a few attempts.

As much as I loved them, I agree with EddieBurro and Blitz, I don't think Kirkland or Porter get in.

Yeah with WR's and RB's the sports writers who vote just love stats, which I think is BS. Bettis should have been a 1st ballot guy.

Just look at guys like Jeff George and Vinny Testaverde. Those guys threw up plenty of yards and TDs, but didn't win JACK in the NFL. I want Winners!!! (Singletary voice).

That Singletary presser is one of the greatest of all time! I also agree that the Hall is more than just "numbers". The numbers have to be put in context. There are a lot of guys that are "fantasy darlings" now that will never even sniff the Hall because a lot of their "monster numbers" are put up in garbage time. I think all these owners that overpay a lot of these guys must just be fantasy fans and think that just because someone puts up good numbers in fake football that it translates to them being good at real football. LOL! Maybe this explains why Dan Snyder keeps overpaying guys and why Jerry Jones gave a lot of money to Roy Williams as well? Maybe it also explains why Cleveland thought RG3 might be a good guy to have because one of my buddies that doesn't really watch football too much but loves fantasy said "I'd like to have RG3 because he can throw the deep ball" and I'm like "Ok. So what else can he do???" LOL! Or maybe it's just that the Haslam plays Madden a lot?

You don't think Hines ever gets in? I think he definitely gets in but will just have to wait a while. Maybe they will put him in when Ben goes in. That would be awesome.

I think Faneca has a shot this year, but Hines will definitely be in within five years. When he retired he was in the top 8 all-time in receptions and like top-15 all time in yards. 86 TDs, 2 SB rings in 3 appearances, SB MVP, multiple pro bowls, rules changes based on his excellent blocking, and 13 years with one storied franchise equals HOF for sure.

Let's just say Coryell isn't in yet and his legacy is the genesis of the entire modern offense!

Yeah and that's one of the reasons why I think the Hall of Fame is sort of joke! It's a lot of politics and sadly that might be something that works in Bill's favor. There is a lot more Steeler influence around there than there is Charger influence. Look how long it took Derrick Thomas and he was EASILY a Hall of Famer.

John Madden got in, he coached only 10 years had 1 superbowl win and little else, he got in for being a popular football announcer, there are other coaches with 2 superbowl wins who will never get in, the fickle way these writers select HOFERS leaves a lot to be desired.....

That's because he coached in San Diego. If Choker ownership had ever gotten him a defense.............

I saw the other day that Dan Fouts is a new member of the voting committee so SURELY he's gonna lobby hardcore for Coryell to get in. Also hopefully LT will do the same when he gets in as well.

The media has the upper hand in the selection process, dont kid yourself they pick the inductees:

The 48 member Committee consists of one media representative from each pro football city with two from New York, inasmuch as that city has two teams in the National Football League. There are 16 at-large selectors, all of whom are also active members of the media including one representative of the Pro Football Writers of America, and two members of the Hall of Fame.

Oh there's no doubt that it's media driven.

Fouts has been lobbying for years in favor of Coryell. For good reason. As much as I hate that team, I liked Coryell's offenses. As for LT, I don't see why he'd care. He played for the Giants! (sorry, pet peeve of mine) Tomlinson I don't think would care much either. Schottenheimer was his coach.

Tomlinson considers himself a Charger die hard for life so I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't start lobbying for both coaches really.
