    What don't you get???
I said everything, I can't explain it more.
Every year people point to ......look at how this HC turned it around, or that one, and I keep saying. If anyone has paid attention to the history of the NFL, new HCs turn around teams all the time. People don't know how they will scheme, how they will attack. Let it play out. It's easy to turn a team around. It very hard to keep that team turned the correct way, and as always at many of those so called brilliant HCs that turned it around start losing , and are gone in a few years. He was just another one.

    Too true.

As teams have adjusted and adapted to the stuff that Shanny and McVay and their disciples have spread across the league...some coaches have adapted and some just run the same stuff over and over.

It is what happens when you give jobs to everyone from the actual coordinators to the dude who made copies and got coffee that one season.

Most of my complaints about Arthur Smith are that he has not adapted his stuff much from his Titans heyday.

As for McDonald specifically...that team quit on him. I would've fired him a month ago.

McDaniel had a .500 record for his career in Miami. That isn't too bad considering he had Tua for a QB the whole time. But as others have said he just doesn't seem like a leader. He'll be hired as an OC for someone and do well but I'd be surprised if he is ever a HC again.

No but I just saw that the Browns have already contacted McDaniel for an interview to be their HC.

Colin Cowherd actually announced a few minutes ago that the Browns wanted McDaniel so bad that a few weeks ago they were trying to work out a trade with the Dolphins to swap HC's. Now that McDaniel is unemployed the Browns called him just a few minutes after he got fired. This is just too funny.

I don't care he's a nerd. I care that I don't see players follow him as a leader. I watched interactions on the sidelines, and it doesn't look good.

I would’ve fired him after the Steeler game. He gave up with 10 minutes left.

Miami fans said he is slow to call plays and “too smart” for his own good. Whatever that means.

    yup.. they crowned this dude.

I really don’t get the hype. Feels like the only successful pass play they have is deep in’s.

New Head coaches often "turn teams around" because they are put into a position where the team needs turning around and most of the time they are given a low bar.

Where are you getting that from? New head coaches do not often turn teams around right away. Just going by the last 10 seasons there have been more HC that failed their first season than succeeded.
