Fire Keith Butler

We will never, ever ever ever ever ever ever ****ing beat the Patriots with a zone defense. Zero adjustments, a whole week to gameplan, not even an adjustment to a press zone. Why am I smarter than Keith Butler?

 

With a QB like Brady and a wide receiving corps that relies on timing routes, you need to PRESS and RUSH THE PASSER

 

The problem is a lack of pressure. Someone will always get open with no pressure with or without man coverage.

 

I can't believe we didn't have a more varied defensive game plan for this game... and yet I'm not surprised.

the 3-4 is irrelevant now. the zone defense is not going to work against these type offenses. Atlanta would do the same thing. I hate to say it because I like butler but I would welcome a 4-3 press man or even cover 2

 

I give haley a small pass because of the bell injury. I don't care what you think, that is a game changer

 

The Patriots do the same game plan every time we play them. They spread it out. We do nothing different to stop it.

And it has been the same thing for nearly ever since we've been playing Brady! After all these freaking games you would think they would have come up with a better plan by now.

3 rookies on D and our number 1 d lineman is out. I'm optimistic about next years defense. This was a top down failure.

 

How does this guy make money most of us will never see in our lifetime? Ridiculous. Playing zone against the pats in 2017 is just lazy and stupid. When we're lazy and stupid at work, we get fired. I hope he's out by next week.

 

I would really like to hear the viewpoint of the person who disagreed with me. Did this look like a close game to you? Did it look like maybe a soft zone would work when it was 17-9? How about 33-9? How about when you look at the 19-0 TD to pick ratio for Brady against the same zone defense that we rolled out with today? How about when you account for the fact that it has never ****ing worked?

 

You'd think he could at least adjust some when your defense is getting torched left and right. I mean do something.

 

Maybe we should blame Tomlin and Haley for pulling out nine wins.

 

Honestly, I think our D, and especially our our secondary is just too young and inexperienced to play something so outside our normal scheme and be successful. I agree that press man is the only way we slow Brady, but I don't think we could do it.

 

You've been an assistant to Dick LeBeau for 12 years. His zone did not work against Tom Brady, despite so many attempts at doing the same thing. So what do you do in the biggest game of the year? The same thing. It'd be one thing if these games were close. But it's a 19-0 TD to INT ratio. Does that seem close to you?

 

I get trying zone but by the 2nd qtr it was very obvious that it wasn't working. Why not change to man and start hitting the receivers at the line to disrupt their routes? Butler came in with a game plan that's been a proven failure and never adjusted. Are we sure we can't do better at DC? Especially with a young defense that has a lot potential.

 

Well, I am not just happy to be here. This is the kind of loss that can undo nine in a row. Losing close? Fine. An effort would have been nice
