Just kidding. Here are some nice stats for the KC game for all of you that were so willing to throw the towel in on him.

39 completions out of 60 attempts
    65 passing %
    452 yards (7.5 average)
    3 touchdowns
    0 interceptions
    1 Sack
    1 Rushing TD
    1 Fumble

    104.3 passer rating

Just last week people were calling for his head like now we're seeing for Butler. Just shows how much of a knee jerk reaction people can have.

Now Patrick Mahomes managed a perfect 154.8 passer rating! The discussion to replace Butler if this doesn't turn around in a hurry has merit.

Can't believe Eli has more passing yards in his career than Ben.. That surprised me. But he did play like 750 straight games so that's probably why

Eli Manning 51,906 in 217 games

Ben Roethlisberger 51852 in 202 games.

    https://www.footballdb.com/leaders/career-passing-yards

Less than a 100 yards difference but 15 games difference.

But yeah Ben sucks! Need to release him. The 7th all-time passing leader for passing yards in NFL history.

Yes, Ben's stat line today is impressive. Except for the #1 in the L column. Great stats are kind of pointless when you lose. Obviously the loss was more on the D and coaching staff. When you are playing from a 3 TD deficit and can't run the ball, of course your QB is going to have a lot of passing attempts and yards. Not to mention that we never know if Jekyll or Hyde is going to show up under center.

Only a fool would put the loss on Ben today. That all sounds nice, but not too many QBs can overcome 42 points. Ben came back with 21 points in the 2nd quarter where most QBs would have been packing bags calling a game.

It is fun watching Ben in the zone like that where he's throwing the ball all over the field like it's 7 on 7..when he retires I will miss that

Did I put the loss on Ben? Hope that isn't what you read from my reply. With those kind of stats and the O putting up 37 points, you wouldn't expect a loss. The reasons for the loss are pretty well covered by the page of threads about FKBI, FMTI, Dupree's a bust, secondary blows, Boz had his head up his arse, etc.

Ben's also had better running backs and he hasn't always been this pass-happy.

I'm a bit of a defender of Ben as I've witnessed way back for years when the Steelers did not have that. I think his 15 year record should speak for itself.

I don't know one of my friends that root for different teams that wouldn't take Ben off our hands. So appreciate what you have when you have it. Oddly the people that seem to hate on Ben the most seem to be Steelers fans.

Ben has over 900 yards in his last two games at Heinz field. What does this man have to do to get a win?

This was a game where we really needed those first few drives to be positive.

I understand Ben put up big numbers, but even field changing drives in the first quarter could have turned this into a W for us.

Nope, you're guessing wrong. But I'll give you a pass since you appear to be pretty new here and I've not been around too much lately. It's very well established that this team doesn't have a legit shot at winning without Ben. I'm not a Ben hater, nor do I give him a pass when he turns it over 5 times in a game either. Great numbers today for Ben, but hard to get too excited about that when the Steelers lose the game.

The offense needed a 21 point deficit to get going. The slow starts have to stop if they want to win a game. This includes Ben. He is the field general. After he woke up he played a hell of a game. He gave everything to win. Maybe, just maybe they will come out with some fire from the opening snap Maybe. If not it's going to be a long season. But with that defense it doesn't look positive...

But it's only game #2. They ran into a buzz saw, an up and coming super star in Mahomes. I'm trying to inject a positive here. I might need another IV...

In the last two games, Ben has done a better job of tackling than most of our defensive players!
