Dont'a Hightower is a UFA who was coached up by Flores. He would be my choice to take a swing at. They have to do something about that ridiculous contract of Shobert's or release him.

They might make one or two splash signings, but they won’t go crazy. My bet is they will plug holes with decent players, but not stars. That way they’re not forced into drafting a position of need. It gives them the opportunity to go best player available. Basically what Colbert has always done.

Would Ryan Jenson be considered a Star pickup? There seems to be a lot of talk of the Steelers going after this Pro Bowl Center.

We need a leader on the offensive line; last year I have no idea who was trying to take on that role?

This team could actually be above average, even with a mediocre QB, if we somehow revamped the oline and made Harris the focal point of our offense. Not sure it's possible to fix the oline in one off-season though.

this is my biggest point - GO BIG this year - or GO HOME. They will let those guys ROT another year, them and Heyward.

Rest all 3 for the 2023 season!!

Remember the uncapped year and teams went nuts with signings and we all thought it would come back to bite them but ultimately didn't? Then the Steelers tried to act responsibly and proceed as if there was a cap and the following year suffered because of the cap. I love the team but sometimes being a model franchise has led to them looking like chumps instead of Champs

A strong no on this from me. Besides watching him look tired and slow vs Indy last season I still hate that he was wined and dined by Butler and Tomlin the last time he was a FA and while it was happening they missed out on guys they could have signed for a guy who had every intention of running back to NE with a Steelers offer to show BB and get a deal done.

New coach should help. The rookies should improve. I can live with a young line improving together as long as they are trending in the right direction. I'd love to have a Jensen come in and add a top draft RT or a vet RT. They may not be the top line but if they get to the middle of the pack in one year it's a big step forward. As long as they are going in the right direction.

No. Get a good ILB and fix lines. Leave Reindeer in there, win maybe 7 or 8 games. By Steelers standards, that would be Tanking.

The Chiefs fixed their OL in one offseason.

    Hmmmm:hmm:
I wouldn't say they fixed it.
Was it better. Yes, but it still cost them in the end. Don't You think???

They got a little lucky there. The rest of the league screwed up by letting them get Trey Smith in the sixth round. I know there were medical concerns, but he should have been taken day two.

Of course, the Steelers passing on Humphrey also helped them out. I'm a big fan of Freiermuth and he certainly was worthy of a second-round pick, but passing on Humphrey was a mistake that worked out to Kansas City's benefit.

They also got a break with Brown wanting out of Baltimore, allowing them to trade for a quality tackle.

It's not often you can get three starters with a second-round pick, a sixth-round pick, and a trade of a first-round pick the following season.

It was very good most of the season, and I'm not sure that is what cost them. Pressure was part of it, but Mahomes also just had a crappy half of football.

I was thinking of How much pressure He was up against in the last game. I do agree it was way better, and probably will be even better this year..... after another year together. Unless they are losing someone I haven't heard about.
