I want to mention that how the Steelers do business.

They attempt to fill all spots (generally) before the draft with low key cheap FA.
If Jacoobs ( not a typo) heads this way I dont think there is a guarantee he makes the 53, it's just getting to the 90 number.
The MO seems to not reach in the draft because there isn't a draft guarantee.

So the signings will be boring and may fill depth but I don't see it as an indication of a particular starter. That of course being outside of some bigger names in FA.

No option here just and observation and that may even be wrong.

All that low key FA crap is out the window now because we are in the post Ben era and actually have some cap money to burn.

You do realize that Watt and Fitzpatrick will still be playing in 2023, right?

Too tough to call anymore. We somehow just went 9-7-1 with inconsistent defense and garbage offense. Started 11-0 the prior year which was also a head scratcher. Seems WHEN you play a team on your schedule means a whole lot. It is luck if the opposition is in a mini slump or has key injuries, then you have them on your schedule and you beat a superior team. Most every team has those slumps. IMO, we have seen this kind of luck in above average amounts last couple seasons.

Fans do not want to see losses, but the facts are we have no hope of a Super Bowl and no franchise QB. It took a 6-10 season to put us in position to draft Ben with the 11th pick in 2004. This is the season, sad to say, we should hope to lose a bunch of games for the longer term good.

If we can go 9- 7- 1....with the Oline We had last year, the toughest schedule, and the 24th ranked D.
We can definitely go 9- 7-1 with some of the holes filled, and be real contenders the following Year when the rest of the holes are filled. IMO

I'm obviously going to root for our boys, but I'm ok with 6-11. Steelers have what 26m to work with and then the cap raises another 20+m work with. The Steelrrs have a real chance to build something special for 24 and 25. We can find a franchise QB in the 23 or 24 draft.

Cause if you don't pay TJ or Minkah, you've got nothing going for the future. You just don't ignore solid pieces to the team while trying to also build it.

    They for sure do.
The biggest splashes though are still "low key"

I'd be shocked if there was a NFL top 10 FA the Steelers go after.
Just because you got the money doesn't mean you blow the wad.

    Nope just messin.

It's just me trying to bring light. The RB from Vegas? Def josh jacoobs, or double j coobs, which ever you prefer.
Sam is the name? No matter what Sammy biscuits (Bradford or otherwise).
Just having fun, here's my headshot!

Let’s improve the team in other areas in 2022 and go for that top ten pick in 2023!

Case in point. The year after they went 6-10 they went 15,-1 with a rookie Qb.

When Ben called it quits there was no doubt in my mind Rudolph would be our starter next season. He will beat whoever we have in camp. never thought the Steelers would go after a decent FA at QB.

Now that part about "era" I'm not so sure about. I'm guessing he will be our starting QB for less then 2 years.

If Kenny Pickett is available at 20 I'm grabbing him no matter what. I would even consider trading up to 16 if I have to try and take him from Philly. I think he'll be gone by 11 or 12 though to Wash or Min.

WHY? It only took him 7 years to learn the college game FINALLY.
What is the learning curve in the NFL?
