I would rather have nose bleed seats. In three rivers anyway. Last game of the year somewhere around 1988 through 1990. I was the Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant for a reserve unit in Connellsville PA. A guy walked in and gave me 50 tickets on a Monday for the Browns Steelers last game of the year on Level 6. I think it was the Browns last game before moving to bmo, some of us were wearing black arm bands in support against CHIT for brains moving his team. Anyway Testerverty dropped back and I am telling my friend Shelton got it. (Ball is still in T's hands) I said Shelton got it, SHELTON GOT IT. My friend looking at me like I was nutts. T threw the ball and Shelton stepped in front of it and took it to the house. I believe that was the nestea plunge for you old timers. Not sure about that part though. The point is, you can see more developing from up there.

Yeah I'm pretty excited. Heinz Field doesn't seem to have too many bad seats. I'm in 526 which is the North end zone I think. Tickets were pretty reasonable too @ $80. When I saw the Steelers in Foxboro in '08, I ended up paying like $350 to sit 10 rows up on the 40.

As the time draws nearer I will be relying on yinz locals and experienced travelers on the best spots to go to.

LOL! I think you misunderstood Coastal because I did too at first. He's not saying that he's in the 2nd row. He's saying this is the second time in a row that he's been to Heinz. LOL. I thought the same thing until I read it twice. But based on what you said I've sit in both and I just personally like to be closer because it feels like I'm more in to the action. But you are ABSOLUTELY right about watching the plays develop though. I'll tell you what's funny about being close though. Last year I was on the 2nd row of the 50 at the Titans debacle and the seats were awesome BUT the camera crane was on my side and every time they were around mid field that stupid camera was blocking my view! I was like "dang it dude I never thought of this!" LOL.

I go on the ticketmaster website every year at the very minute they go on sale and have struck out every time. Is there a trick to being successful that you can share.

I pretty much did just that. Sat on the ticketmaster site and clicked on the game I wanted when it was time. I don't know if selecting the Bills game made me more likely to be successful. Obviously it is probably the game that would have been the least in demand. I just picked it because the Irish are playing Pitt the day before. This is my first experience in doing this, perhaps I just got lucky, but I do think the Bills tickets probably just went a little slower.

I had three computers going. One each for the titans, bears and ravens and came up empty. I'll just chalk it up to bad luck and try again next year. Thanks for the feedback.

Truthfully while I was in Connellsville. I knew a lot of folks who used scalpers. Never knew one to get burnt. Doesn't mean it will never happen. Back then 1998-90 my brother was a foreman in a steel PACKING plant. He got free tickets almost every game so if someone wasn't giving them to me, they always gave them to him

    88 to 90

did you guys ever try going through the opposing team for tickets? steelcity, i know your up there around the bills right? the opposing team gets like 5,000 to sell. at least it used to be that way.

i remember the days you could send a check in to the ticket office and if they got tickets back from the other team they would send the tickets to you. if not they sent your check back. it's been a long time ago, but i think you had to even send a self addressed envelope and all with the check.

coastal, i agree about the scalpers. when we had extra people going, my wife and i would scalp them and give our seats to whomever was in town or relative sat in our regular seats. we have sat in some really good seats that way. a couple of times we had better seats then our own. not to often but a couple of times. i never remember paying more then face value either. the closer to game time the cheaper they got. we have never been burned. i'm talking since 1970 at either place.

maybe something you might want to look into in the future. anyway have fun and wave that towel proud.:herewego!:

Face value plus gratuity, done it for years. You may miss the kickoff negotiating price.
The colder it is the more tickets become available. Crappy team, more tickets become available.

I got tickets for the Bills game as well. Live here in Buffalo. Coming with my dad who's a Bills fan (sorry guys). 2nd time we've been down there. I'm very excited.

I went on the TicketMaster website and got them with no issue.

I understand if you wait till kickoff, you can go below face value Mac.
Told this story before. My brother had 4 tickets to the Browns last game of the season in 3 rivers (not the same as my last browns game story) . He couldn't find anyone to go with him and was wrestling with going to our mom's house and watch in warmth or go into the stadium and freeze his butt off. About that time a browns fan ran up to him and ask if he knew where he could get tickets. Brother said he had 4. Guy screamed HOW MUCH? Brother said $30. The guy stuffed $120 in his hand, grabbed the tickets and as he was running back to his friends my brother said for all 4. The guy to this day, never heard that. Never will unless he reads this board. My brother made the kickoff at our mom's house in Leetsdale. 13 miles down Ohio River Blvd.

I'm from New Brunswick, so we're alot closer to Foxboro than we are Buffalo, but that is good advice. Never thought about going to visiting team for tickets.

I just wanted to tell everyone that there are still seats available on the Ticketmaster site and if you are still looking I wanted to mention something that I figured out last year. After the initial rush there will still be a lot of single seats left. Last year I got through for the first time during the initial 10am Saturday morning rush. I had tickets to the Redskin game but I screwed up. I saved them and went looking for other tickets in a better section and little did I know that I had only a certain time to purchase the ones I did get. After not finding any better ones I went back to go ahead and buy the Redskin ones and by that time they were gone. Needless to say I was a little upset. A couple of days later I went back to the site and was just messing around and noticed that there were still tickets left for games here and there. Some at the upper deck price of 70.00 or so that I was willing to pay. That is when I noticed they were just single tickets. I started looking at each game and you can actually use their interactive map to scan the whole stadium and look for still open seats. The little black dots mean that seat is still open. So if you don't mind going by yourself you can get one. Or what I did is I looked for black dots that were fairly close together. I ended up finding two seats in the same row upper deck in the end zone like the third row and they were seats 5 and 7. So that meant there would be a stranger in between my wife and I that I am sure they would switch seats with one of us or the seat would just be empty and we would have some extra room. I snapped them up real quick and we had a great time at the Cincy game (even though they lost) and we had the extra space as well because no one showed up. I just looked again and there are single seats left and for some games like the Bills game some of the little black dots are close together. I haven't seen any like I got last year but I do see some that if you go with another person they can sit right behind you or diagonal or pretty close. Give it a shot if you are still looking.

As far as yesterday I got shutout looking for Titans, Bears, Ravens games but I was trying to pick the amount I wanted to pay instead of "best available". I had not gotten any by 10:15am so I figured I was out of luck. I tried the Titans one more time and just chose "Best available" and I couldn't believe when I got two that late and they were still the upper deck cheap tickets that I was wanting to pay. So next year for the people who did not get through make sure you are doing "best available"

Just looked at all the games and there are a good bit of single tickets left and some are fairly close to each other. Also the Cincy and Cleveland game still have a lot left and there is a good few that are together. Still check it out if you missed out yesterday morning.

ravenhater, that is about where I was in post #5 of this thread but it was three rivers. You can really see plays develop from there
Hope we win that and the other games this season

I had one of those arm bands on but I think mine was orange. My wife wanted to know why I was wearing it. "I thought you hated the Browns". I said "yes, but they are our team to hate. And I want to hate them in Cleveland!"
