I think QB salaries are getting out of hand. For the crazy numbers like 40 to 50 mill a yr it makes it tough to build or maintain the team around such a high priced QB.
As soon as a team has some success other teams are looking to pounce on their free agents and when your paying one player nutty numbers you just have to let guys walk.
When a team puts that much money into one player the most important guy on the staff is the numbers guy to manage the cap.
Dak I agree he has played very well for a long time in the reg. season. Watson how many really good years did he have 2 maybe 3 I didn t think he was that great even before the Browns sold their soul to get him.

The Watson trade could be the biggest disaster in NFL history haha

Fields played nicely, definitely didn't light the world on fire... but certainly played a solid game. I'd rather have him than Watson right now for sure.

The Bucs are the most "under the radar" team I've seen in many years. Good QB, Good weapons on offense, Good D. They can do some damage in NFC playoffs in January.

So great to see Watson play like Trash. Your gonna see Winston starting in Cleveland before too long.

Even Sweeter to watch good old Baker Mayflower torch the Commanders for almost 300 yards and 4 TD's.

He will be beaten to a pulp very shortly. I watched that game and could not believe the shots he was taking. He started to wear down. He is way overrated.

The Browns might be stuck with Watson for another two years, his cap hit in 2025 and 2026 is 72 million in each year.

And his contract is fully guaranteed!

I don't blame the Cleveland front office for this trade, it was their owner who desperately wanted Watson in 2022!

Do I believe this is a bad deal?!

I had stated such long before nabbing DeShaun Watson, even before the allegations came out that he wasn't going to be the same. Banking on him would have been one of the holy grail leaps of faith in NFL History. Any player is going to struggle coming back after missing time of that magnitude; the QB Position doubly so. Why people believed that DeShaun was any different still baffles me to this day.

    History proven the likes of me and others correct; DeShaun is a shell of his self. I stated such when he was traded that he wouldn't be the same given his injury. 2023 was nothing more than vindication; further evidenced by the fact that Joe Flacco is the reason that the Browns went back to the playoffs. Even better for Steelers fans as a whole?! Houston made off like bandits in terms of their investments. Those players are as follows;

    Kenyon Green: Offensive Guard.

    John Metchie III: Wide Receiver.

    Christian Harris: Linebacker.

    Daemon Pierce: Running Back

    C.J. Stroud: Quarterback

    Will Anderson: EDGE

    Tank Dell: Wide Receiver

Stefon Diggs: Wide Receiver (Browns 2024 First Round Pick)

    Kamari Lassiter: Cornerback

    Calen Bullock: Safety

    Cade Stover: Tight End

    Jamal Hill: Linebacker

*All players were acquired using the picks from the DeShaun Watson trade via EPSN*

In short?! This is why I stated then and, will continue to state now that this trade is the worst trade in NFL History. Hell, never mind that, this should be discussed as the worst trade in Sports History. A fully guaranteed deal for a QB way past his prime in exchange for building a Championship Caliber Roster in the span of two seasons?!

Doesn't get any worse than that folks.

    Watson QB rating today 78.8
    Fields QB rating today 97.3

Both the Stains and Steelers won. The Ratbirds and Bung Holes both lost.
I am pleasantly surprised with Fields. They are going this year with a strong defense and a game manager QB. He seems to accept the role and excel at it, so far. Did Trubisky or Pickett have a rating in the 90s two games in a row?
No one in Cleveland is pleasantly surprised with Watson.
I wonder, was the guy who was responsible for the Watson deal the same one who was responsible for them drafting Johnny Manziel? If so that person is guilty of franchise murder.
