If Fields reaches the Pro Bowl level of play that he was expected to be when he was drafted, then that will be Tomlin's biggest blunder of his career. He had a young QB that started the season 4-2 and had 10 total TD's with only one pick. Only to bench him for a washed Russell Wilson. If Fields continues to never reach his potential then it was a good move but if he balls out then that will really be a black eye to the Steelers franchise.

For the love of God,PLEASE NOT RODGERS. I'd rather Wilson, or even Rookie this year than him.

    Jets QBs drafted since 2000-
    Chad Pennington- 1st round
    Brooks Bollinger- 6th round
    Kellen Clemens- 2nd round
    Eric Ainge- 5th round
    Greg McElroy- 7th round
    Geno Smith- 2nd round
    Taj Boyd- 6th round
    Bryce Petty- 5th round
    Christian Hackenberg- 2nd round
    Sam Darnold- 1st round
    James Morgan- 4th round
    Zach Wilson- 1st round.

Which of these exactly did the Jets develop? Smith and Darnold did much better when they left the Jets.

I agree the Jets have been a disaster but with an all new coaching staff things could be looking up for them.

Damn, that's terrible. Even worse than Pittsburgh.

That shows how bad the Steelers QB situation has gotten when we are crossing our fingers for Gardner Minshew.

Should have made a strong push for Darnold or Fields. I really think they dropped the ball on Darnold especially for what he signed for however I think both of them ended up in the worst possible places and will probably falter.

I really think Tomlin is responsible for the QB mess. Khan should override him because between last season and this year it’s making him look bad. They look dysfunctional trying to find a QB.

At this point just go into the draft and be aggressive in picking one. Sign Rudolph or Jones to start so you don’t have to throw a rookie into the fire right away.

The OL is going to be improved in 2025, even with crappy coaching. Dan Moore left (thank god) and Fautanu should be healthy. Add in solid showings from Frazier and McCormick and one good FA signing or draft pick away from an above average, and quite young OL.

I would have been PISSED OFF. $30 million for a QB that can't complete basic passes and still can't put ANY touch on any throws?

Fields can be...passable as a QB if he's rolling out and allowed to throw bullets to a WR, but many passes require touch, timing and Fields ain't got that...AT ALL.

The market. The number of available QBs are so thin that anyone under the age of 36 was going to be an overpay.

This perfectly encapsulates the fanbase right now.

'I don't want Fields, but I don't want him less than everybody else.' :lolol:

What's the difference though? 9-8 or 10-7 with a shelling in the playoffs or a 6-11 or 7-10 season. I would take the latter and rebuild this roster. Lot of compensatory picks next season.

Art II and Bags Tomlin and some fans think this team is close. Close to what? Delusional.

Or maybe they were being cheap after they spent big money on Metcalf, they also didn't spend big money on any of the CBs that were out there went for the cheaper old CB in Slay.

The pats are reportedly putting Joe Milton on the block....
I wouldn't mind signing a vet and giving up a late rd pick or 2

If you could get him for a 4th, I'd be down. He showed well in an actual NFL game. He probably has as much potential as anybody you'll draft in the 4th. He's a physical freak. I don't know if it would be worth it for the Pats to get a 4th though. He could be a good backup who really develops over the next couple years, that they could flip for better than a 4th. He only costed them a 6th, there's no urgency at this point.

I really thought they'd grab one of those guys, but after they broke the bank for Metcalf they probably needed to be conservative, making sure they had the money for any QB situation that came up.

Now, those guys are gone. I would've rather they spent their money on a top CB and saved the draft pick.

The blunder would be on Kahn for not resigning fields

The scenario Hanratty put forth is if Fields goes on to have a pro bowl season.

Thats not likely to happen especially playing for the Jets but if it did, major blunder by the Steelers.

Only because like 10 QBs before him dropped out.
