I haven't seen Russell Wilson play recently, but Mark Schlereth seems to think he is washed up and there is a reason why two good coaches gave up on him and ate $111 million.


I have seen Justin Fields play though and I am not a fan at all. He is inconsistent with his accuracy and throws interception. He is Trubiskey with faster legs. There is a good reason Bears are getting rid of him. If Mark Schlereth is right, then we are in for a rough season.

Bears QBs are not any better when they go to other franchises. Jay Cutler was the last decent QB they had...and he was mediocre at best.

It’s two coaches that gave up on Russell though. Impression from Denver’s message board was Russell now seems to be afraid to take a hit and gives up on plays too easily. If that’s true, he should have retired like Aaron Donald. Then there is the other possibility that he wants to prove his critics wrong.

 

I find message boards to be the least trusted source for accurate information.

 

Lately, this message board has been more reliable than some Pittsburgh media insiders.

Maybe one or two. Most of the ones on The Fan predicted Wilson, Queen, and the Johnson trade. One even said that they would still get Fields even after signing Wilson. No one predicted the Pickett trade though......I mean no one. Mainly because who thought he was worth anything.

I can't wait till all the Fields fans disappear like the Trubisky fans did. This board was full of them when We got Trubisky....with chants of it was all Chicago's fault, and by the end of Trubisky playing time....all those people acted like they never said all that, and they knew He wouldn't work. LoL.....the same will happen here...., or our coaching, and GM will be blamed for not getting Him the right help. LoL

Nobody was excited about the Trubisky signing, I along with other Steelers fans thought he could be a decent game manager, he didn't work out and they moved on.

 

You give the Fields trade an F- even though we got him for a conditional 6th round pick? If that were a 2nd or 3rd rounder, I’d agree. But since we gave up virtually nothing I think it’s a C+ and could be a solid B if he lives up to his potential.

 

Bull$hit. I didn't say You, but there was many that was excited.....otherwise I wouldn't have had as many arguments about it, and this is what the ones that are excited about Fields will be saying in a few years......I will have to hear about how nobody was excited about him then....which again will be bull$hit.

 

He has over 70 turnovers to his name.

 

I think Russel still has the arm and can play great at times.

To me, the issue is he got to a point in his career where he thought he was ‘the man’ and could win every game off his arm making Mahomes type throws. He was getting erratic with his decisions.

If he can be reeled in and lean on the run game more, I think we have a good chance of being successful.
