Some people either have hatred, short memories, or didn't watch.

Rookie contract. He sure as heck wouldn’t be getting that if he was a free agent :lolol:

I don't disagree, we will never know but one thing is if KP falls apart we only have RW for one year. If RW is great we are not gonna break the bank on a 36 year old QB and pay big money so I thought KP and Mason for 2024 and see how it goes. RW for a league minimum isn't bad but we lost an effective back up because no matter how we look at it Mason had a good record 8-4-1 as a starter and never had a good OC for a complete season. At this point its a moot point as he is gone but something tells me we messed up developing this kid.

Pittsburgh is not the place for a young quarterback in need of development. I believe Rudolph’s career trajectory was hindered and I believe Pickett’s is being negatively impacted as well. Tomlin was okay with a QB like Ben who drew plays up in the dirt and was a master of improvisation. Should be okay with Wilson as well since he’s much the same way. But for young quarterbacks who need structure, discipline and coaching up, Tomlin and his crack offensive staff led by the likes of Randy Fichtner and Matt Canada was not the place to be. Hopefully, for Kenny’s sake, that changes under Arthur Smith.

Make it make sense. You're ok with them paying a Qb that has a 14-10 record with 13tds, and 13 ints, but You didn't want a guy that had a 8-4-1 record with 19 tds, and 11 ints???

If Russ regains form this season I don’t see how they don’t pay him. Like say he plays great and they win a playoff game or two, how do you let him walk.

It would definitely be a huge decision to make. He will be expensive and 36. The only way I think they do that is if they think we are truly one or two seasons away from a Super Bowl. But we would have to massively improve this year to think that. No more defensive melt downs giving up ungodly points in the playoffs and truly have a prolific offense.

Especially when the Colts signed Joe Flacco today for 8.7 million, more than double the salary of Rudolph.

Once Russell Wilson was signed then there was no way that Mason was going to be here. Pickett will be because he is under contract. I can only hope he grows up a bit and accepts this as an opportunity to learn from a seasoned vet with much success. Mason Rudolph had his chance but didn’t get very far. I’ve pretty much given up on him being good enough to take us far or any other team for that matter. Kenny Pickett I hold out a tiny bit of hope even though I’m in a very select minority with that belief.

They will have a worse record with Wilson than last year. 5 ft 10 guy who has lost mobility isn't going to last down the stretch in AFC North. They may win a few to start the season, but as season gets colder and boo boo's pile up on Wilson's body, he's bailing and quitting on the plays. His critics in Denver say that it seemed that he was afraid of taking a hit. Hits are more violent in AFC North.

You do know Russell Wilson had 16tds, and 11ints just two years ago. He hasn't been Himself in 3 years. I sure hope Russell Wilson is all You people think he is . 6 years ago I would have been ecstatic with R. Wilson....today...

I’m more optimistic with Russell Wilson and Kenny Pickett on this team than I would have been with Rudolph and Pickett. I’ve already admitted several times that I have not been big on him in the past but I can’t deny the talent he once had and he hasn’t had a great supporting cast in a while. I’m excited to see how he performs with a very good running game.

Yes good luck, had to follow in Ben’s footsteps, got benched, regained the starter spot, beat over the head with a helmet, benched again for Ben’s last season, then when Ben retires, pushed to third string behind a rookie and a 1st round bust. Then in desperation they turn to him and he guides them to three straight wins and the playoffs.

can’t make this stuff up. I hope he becomes a starter and has a successful career

Mason wanted to try something different. I think the Titans are a good fit.

For Kennys sake?! More like Mikes sake. He still hasnt gotten his contract extended; a first given how long this has taken.

Put up or shut up time for Tomlin.

Add Rudolph to the mix was probably going to create even more quarterback controversy then what we will probably already have Pickett and Wilson.
Plus, being the best out of those three we had last year isn’t saying much.
