Farewell Mason Rudolph

Mason is a backup. He was a backup for Ben. He was a backup for Duck. He was a backup for Kenny. Now he is a backup for Levis. He still has to beat Malik for the QB2 spot.

 

Good luck Mason. I hope he starts for the Titans. They Will have Levi’s from KY. with one year under his belt. Mason has a few more.

 

I'm glad for Mason i hope he does great. Now if KP could get a deal elsewhere that would be good too. Both Mason and KP were thrown under the bus.

 

I think there would have been more contreversy if the Steelers signed Mason. He finished off the season strong, lead us into the playoffs, and had the best QB performance of the last couple years. If Kenny started next season over Mason, or vice versa, there would have been noise.

In signing Russ, you have a proven vet, and there would be 0 question about why he would start over Kenny. If Kenny ended up winning the job, it wouldnt be a shock either, because the narrative is that Russ is on the decline. He's also not getting paid enough to make it a big deal or contraversy.

 

I agree with the arrows, but I think the only way there's going to controversy now is if they start Pickett over Wilson.

Most of the people complaining that Tomlin “let our best qb go” are the same ones who complained last year at this time that we resigned Rudolph

 

I guess Mason finds himself in a situation that would have been similar if Steelers had not signed Wilson and signed him. He has a good shot at starting. Probably best he gets away from Tomlin and his circus.

 

Bob's punctuation, spelling and grammar are at the level of an 8 year old kid. I really don't think that English is his first language.

What I find funny is the I hate Kenny Pickett crowd is now throwing their support behind Mason Rudolph with some fantasy that he will suddenly light up the AFC conference. I’ll bet their just itching to draft him on all those FF teams.

 

No one really hates Pickett...They just think he is not NFL starting qb based on his play and his horrible scoring stats.

 

Has been for quite awhile. Look at what a batting average in the twos get you in baseball.

Good situation for him. He’ll be starting there at some point. I’ll be rooting for him when he does. Class act all the way!

 

I agree. Surely OK would have been prepared to offer him a 3 year contact in the $10 million range. We’ll see how this plays out, but if Mason balls out in Tennessee and Wilson and Pickett struggle, somebody will have a whole lot of ‘splainin’ to do.

Ya... the controversy will happen if (when?) Wilson outplays Pickett in preseason, but they start Pickett.

 

Sort of interesting that on Ramon Foster's podcast earlier this year, Foster said that he hoped that Mason comes to the Titans so that his wife can sell him a house, and Mason jokingly says who knows he might be in 'NashVegas' next year. Good to see two buddies join up in Tennesee. The exchange takes place at 1:11:47. I guess now Mason is committed to buy a house from Missus Foster.

Wonder if Mason is better than this version of Russ.
