Does anybody get on their site and mess around with it? I'm obsessed with this time of year as much as the actual season. Last night I paid the $8.95 one-time fee for their top tier ("Ultimate GM"). It's pretty fun. Just wondering if anyone else has it

With the ultimate GM version, it lets you start at the beginning of the offseason, complete with tagging players, re-signing, FA, and then the draft. Have any of you paid for it? So far I have nothing negative to say.

I also plan on using it to help prep for our message board mock draft!

Here's what I did in the latest offseason:

    Re-Sign/Free Agency

I decided #1 to cut Ladarius Green. I just don't see his issues improving so I cut ties to make some space to improve elsewhere

Ricardo Mathews DL (re-signed) guy is a solid back-up
Patrick DiMarco FB (FA-3 years $6 million) solid FB coming from a Super Bowl team
James Harrison EDGE (re-signed 1 year $2.0 million) will stick around 1 more year to mentor our #1 draft pick
Stephon Gilmore CB (FA-5 years $47.5 million) I see him and Burns starting to lock things down on the corners
    Le'Veon Bell RB (re-signed-5 years $55 million) no-brainer signing

Note: it will not let you re-sign players if they still have years remaining on contract. Thus I could not do anything with AB

    Draft

    NYJ wanted to trade up:

    SENT:
    • ROUND: 1 PICK: 30
    RECEIVED:
    • ROUND: 2 PICK: 7
    • ROUND: 4 PICK: 31
    • ROUND: 5 PICK: 6
    • ROUND: 6 PICK: 7
39: R2P7: EDGE CHARLES HARRIS-MISSOURI (to trade down 7-8 spots and still get this guy would be a dream!)

62: R2P30: TE EVAN ENGRAM-OLE MISS (freed up space cutting Green and ended up with a TE some compare to Jordan Reed of Washington)

94: R3P30: S JUSTIN EVANS-TEXAS A&M (just about solidifying our secondary. Will now be able to move on from Mitchell once his dead money won't kill us)

134: R4P29: WR MALACHI DUPRE-LSU (Assuming things go well with AB & Bryant gets his head straight, adding Dupre with Rogers in the mix will make this offense lethal. Good route runner with good hands, not to mention he's 6'3"...could have been drafted much higher if he had a QB at LSU)

136: R4P31: C ETHAN POCIC-LSU (every mock I've done has this guy plummeting...not sure why. Can play guard and center, and do it well. Getting him at the end of the 4th would be a no-brainer. Could be a guy who could take over for Pouncey if we decided to part ways with him in a few years, who will be at the front office' magical age of "30" when his contract expires).

151: R5P6: DL RYAN GLASGOW-MICHIGAN (solid DE who will provide depth)

174: R5P29: QB ALEX TORGERSEN-PENNSYLVANIA (there was A LOT of talk about him being better than people think)

    182: R5P37: G SEAN HARLOW-OREGON ST (solid depth)

192: R6P7: CB DES LAWRENCE-NORTH CAROLINA (could take over for William Gay)

    214: R6P29: LB RICHIE BROWN-MISSISSIPPI ST (depth)

251: R7P30: CB JALEN MYRICK-MINNESOTA (I've seen some analysts showing him going in 4th round. Don't see him lasting this long)

I just did fanspeak with their big board....and I got to draft Miles Garett at pick #30. .Just kind of wrote it off after that.

    http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/draft.php?d=afcfte

    30: R1P30 EDGE MYLES GARRETT TEXAS A&M
62: R2P30 EDGE TANOH KPASSAGNON VILLANOVA
    94: R3P30 S OBI MELIFONWU CONNECTICUT
    134: R4P29 C ETHAN POCIC LSU
174: R5P29 WR JOSH MALONE TENNESSEE

214: R6P29 WR RICKY SEAL -JONES TEXAS A&M
251: R7P30 QB BRADY GUSTAFSON MONTANA

Here is a 7 round fan mock I did on another football site I frequent...was very happy with it until I got Garrett at 30 in the above..LOL

Traded #30 to Cleveland for pick 33 and 65...they took Mitch Tribinsky (Garret, Hooker, and Tribinsky in round 1 for Clev)

    2.(33) Tim Williams OLB

was watching a guy slide down to a point I decided to make a move...and traded with the Eagles for the #11 pick in the second round....Traded the Steelers #62 and #94

    2.(43) Haason Reddick ILB

    3.(65) Tanoh Kpassagnon DE

    4.(134) Julie'n Davenport OT

    5.(175) John Johnson FS

    5.(182) Ricky Seals-Ray WR

    6.(214) Brady Gustafson QB

Hack, any idea what big board you used for that one? Something definitely wasn't right if Garrett went #30...lol

I've seen him going as far down as #3 on fanspeak but that's it

I think I usually use the Bleacher Report or CBS boards. I'll have to try the fanspeak and see what happens

I hear Williams has all sorts of off field issues. Dont see the Steelers rolling the dice on a 1st rd pick. Especially after being burnt by Bryant and Bell.

haven't heard the stories... I think he's got the 2nd most explosive 1st step in the draft and the 2nd best repertoire of developed pass rush moves and counters.

He's a top 10 pick, except for (reported) multiple failed drug tests and a weapons violation (arrested, but I believe the charges were dropped). The other person you may see taking a dive in the first round is Dalvin Cook. great runner, but there are a lot of concerns with the people he hangs with, and if he will be able to disassociate himself once he hits the big time.

Everyone seems to like these simulators but me :lolol:. It could be I don't know the ins and outs of them, but I like doing my own and think some of the selections available in certain rounds are way off. But I could be way off too and a control freak lol. One thing is for certain, they expose you to names you may not come across during your normal research..

We didn't when I ran that simulation. I am well aware of the additional pick. I'll run some more.

Just out of curiosity, who does everyone think has the best big board?

Okay so I just ran again. This time with CBS Big Board, not sure what I used before, but this is where I ended up. The final pick was more of a "I don't want to pass up" rather than a need. That being said, if I am in the draft room I don't think I could have done this, but he did offer the best value IMO at the time. I wanted to find a corner, but didn't find one I liked after the first round that I thought was much better than we could get as a UFA or potential small trade like we have a habit of doing.

All 3 of the D guys I really like and I think Butt just adds depth to a potentially strong position....eventually due to his health. Getting Godchaux in the 4th I really liked.
