"experts" best guess

I have a classmate who covers the nfl for a tv station in the south. he covered senior bowl and does a lot of interviews with players and execs from nfl. during the storm in Atlanta last week they spent a lot of time at the station. to make a long story short he sent me best guess on the steelers from what they have now pre combine. he said they have been pretty good at sticking with the players they like over the years

and for numbah. he said he was told by a scout that the steelers covet ebron but don't think he will make it to 15. not sure what to make of that. I hope that don't mean trade up cause I don't think we can afford to

I would love this draft especially the first round.

 

Am I the only one who doesnt want us to draft a TE in the first round?? I feel like we have alot of other needs.

Maybe so, but we are hit-or-miss drafting at DB, and we need more than one guy. Taking a shiny DB in the first and then some of those deeper guys later on might be wise.

 

I agree with this. I truly believe we will cut Ike, so we literally have no corners worth anything outside of Allen and Gay. It is definitely our biggest need. We will more than likely draft 2 CB's this year, and one will get serious time (possibly start).

We are probably going to get a free agent FS this year too, so maybe Shark could play nickel back if the rooks aren't along yet? IDK, but I would be a little shocked if we didn't draft a CB in one of the first two round. Possibly 2 in our first 4 rounds.

 

Yeah. I don't ever want to reach for need, but I don't think we'll have to. I like Gilbert for us. I think he's a good fit and there's a good chance he'll be there.

I don't want a TE in the first round and I doubt that's the direction the Steelers will go. Ebron isn't even a good blocker to use the #15 pick on, if you go offense in the first round take a big WR then the rest of the draft concentrate on defense.

 

Wow! Eric Ebron is such a big target he is looking how Megatron did coming out of Georgia Tech, grabbing balls that are so far out of reach that they shouldn't be caught ... but they are... That is the kind of stuff Plaxico and Ben did as well.

Ben would loooooveee a target like that...

 

If you ask Ben what does he prefer a TE or a big WR, I think he will go with a big WR which he hasn't had since his rookie year with Plaxico.

 

I like Gilbert as well.
