just bothers me that it's not just coaching but execution has been a big issue. do these guys practice enough so that they execute better? execution is based on repetitive practice, but again is the coaching not good enough during practice? maybe the coaching at practice are not doing well?

What bothers me is fans expect perfection every week. Coaches and players are human. Human's make mistakes. Some people act like the Steelers are 0-7.

Players win games. It took the Steelers 25 years to win another Superbowl. The Steelers did not have a losing season since their last Superbowl appearance. Perspective my friend.

MUTH was consistent with his grilling show and shaking his butt for the social media camera during practice. The Tomlin era of slack can't end soon enough.

I don't think the team should even give players time off. The rules are a joke. The players should be practicing 8hrs/day, 52 weeks of the year. Just like us working folk. It's a billion dollar business and these guys are all a bunch of lazy, good for nothin' clowns. They should take their job as serious as us fans do. Shame on them.

Put on your green glasses if you need to......

Execution was awful in the last game but overall it was not the biggest problem for the steelers this year on offense...This is just that every bad play for this team is so big because their margin from error is so slim when you are in the bottom 3 in yards on offense and defense

In the end. It's just a game. Sometimes I think the fans take the loss worse then the players.these guys are getting paid millions of dollars. Why wouldn't they be happy?

I do agree with that. A lot do take it harder. I live in an area where it is like 99% certain their team will be in the Super Bowl in Feb. and so many I know are consumed with it.

I've seen a few players take less $$ to try and win a Championship but majority go where the dollars are and could give two good craps about the last city they played for. Here is a good example of not caring about which city you play for. Will Smith (not the face slapper) has just won his 3rd World Series in a row with 3 different teams.

Perspective really isn't as much an issue as patience is, especially if not having a losing season is not the goal. This varies by individual. JMO>

I'm a diehard Steelers fan. Grew up in Youngstown Ohio. I've been with them thru good times and the bad. But I don't take the losses as bad as I used to.

There are no fans interested in just non losing seasons. This is an asinine claim made by the usual suspects

I'd rather go 0-17 1 year if it meant winning a super bowl. This .500 football is meaningless if it doesn't equate to playoff victories and superbowl appearances. The whole but he doesn't have a losing season is so dumb.

As I grew older it has gotten so much better after a loss. When I was younger a loss would bug the hell out of me for days and I couldn't wait for Sunday or whenever next game was so I could have a happier week. Now, I'm not happy after a loss but it sure doesn't bother me like it use to. The mid 80's really bothered me. I was so use to having great teams.

But Tomlins non-losing streak means more than anything ----doesn't it.More than a wild card appearance. More than a playoff victory. DOESNT IT-- more than a Superbowl win. It's the only thing we live for.:puking2::puking 5: :goofy: :frown::sign0020:

No we don’t expect perfection... just some competence and perhaps not the worst offense in the league. This has been going on for a while now. The team no longer has excuses. We have nearly upgraded all of the talent. Yes we don’t have a prime Ben but we also don’t even really know what we have in KP. The common denominator in all of this is pretty evident.

Thats like saying what came first the chicken or the egg. You can’t really have good execution or at least consistent execution without a good scheme and coaching. To many players have failed under this system at too many different positions and have failed consistently over the last three years for the elephant in the room not to be recognized. Third party unbiased observations in the NFL community continually bash the Scheme and coaching. Yes inevitably the players confidence and abilities are going to be compromised. There are only a few exceptional talents perhaps that can overcome poor scheme such as a George Pickens but those guys aren’t plentiful. Good coaching takes good players and makes them great. Bad coaching takes good players and makes them average to bad and the great players play good inspite of the system.

I think the word Execution is a term used often by coaches when they don’t have the answers. Its pretty evident here that is what’s going on. Even if the system were fantastic if your players aren’t thriving in it then you adapt it to their strengths you don’t try to ask the players to do something they aren’t comfortable with to fit within the system. Perfect example. We have a poor run game. We are terrible at blocking in both pass and run. Yet are 6’7” 265 lb. TE is only out there 10 plays because he didn’t fit the script for the game plan this last week. Ok he isn’t out there because he either isn’t picking up the system or blocking well (yet he blocked great in college and that was his strength), or your so inept in being creative you can’t figure out how to adequately use that talent. Either way it comes back on coaching. You tell me do you think our line could use the extra help in run blocking? The game was relatively close for three quarters and it was raining. Sounded like a reasonable game to run the ball even if the other team had a strong run stopping defense. I can remember the days we didn’t care what the other team did or how strong they were in stopping the run. The we needed three yards we were gonna get three yards. How many more offseason’s are we gonna have to listen to Rooney say we need to fix the run game. I think this next offseason will ge going on year four or five. At certain point you have to ask yourself who is inept here - ownership, management, HC, OC, OL Coach? Tomlin has proven he can win with good Coordinators so why not go back to getting good Coordinators and tell Tomlin to stop trying to micromanage and stop trying to be a DC and a HC. When he coaches like that not only does the Defense suffer but the Offense suffers and as a result the whole team suffers.

This team does not have talent problem. Even with KP not lighting it up if we could actually run the ball and stop the run and defend the pass we could be a pretty good team and we could allow KP to game manage and grow as a QB. KP is carrying the weight of the offense on his young shoulders because we can’t pass protect nor can we run the ball and we have inept play calling. I don’t think you would have gotten much better from a young Ben early in his career, I really don’t. Every QB in the NFL can be made to look pedestrian or poo. Look at Burrow earlier this year in a better scheme with better talent and years of experience. It was mental with Burrow. Look at Mahomes in the last game. We can’t judge Picket yet we really can’t. I am starting to think the organization is not very good at developing QB’s. To a certain degree I feel like we ruined Mason Rudolph. It appears we are dong the same thing with KP.

Never having a losing season means you are in contention for a playoff spot every year. Fans take that for granted. There isn’t one of us that his happy with no playoff wins in 6 seasons and zero SB’s in 15 years.

But I’d rather have this than be a fan of a team who’s season is already over by week 4 every year.
