EX Falcons players

Is it just me or is this team bringing in a lot of ex-falcons players for the new OC's "System"

I'm starting to think we're not going to see that much of a change to fit personnel from him and more of a "The same crap I ran in Atlanta" vibe.

 

How many ex Falcons have they signed?

 

Under Arthur Smith I think the only one is Patterson.

Kazze and Neal were before Arthur.

 

Van Jefferson got traded to ATL before the deadline last year .

 

They just signed an old TE from Titans/Falcons. MyCole Pruitt

 

That's the one I caught as well. Following him from Tenn to Atlanta now in Pitt.

 

Patterson is only one I am interested in.

 

I figure most won't make the final roster.
They are mostly here to help transition the offense.


I like the fact that Wilson is throwing to his receivers already - according to Pat's Podcast.
Patterson is listed as a RB which he doubles a Receiver, so we catch a break with him. I like a 3rd or 4th RB spot that's really not that far in depth, he can line up at WR, H-back or even TE.
Good roster move.

 

They brought in one of the best KR with Patterson. He also lines up in multi-role on offense. I like this addition.

Van Jefferson is not a WR1. But he has averaged over 14yds per reception in 5 seasons, 61 games. Would not surprise me if he makes the 53.

The TE/HB Pruitt seems like competition for Heyward for TE3. Maybe Pruitt has the advantage of knowing Smith already?

 

Its the players too though... I have more faith in Russel Wilson than anyone on the Falcons.

 

My money is on Heyward, He is like 10 years younger, and Pruitt has never played Fullback. Someone has to play FB in the Arthur Smith system.

 

Colletto

 

You know it is funny the same people that are talking about Colletto are also talking about Dylan Cook at RT next year.

Both were players who spent time on a scout team, and both may Surprise the hell out of me next year. Definitely 2 youngsters to keep an eye on. Pittsburgh kept Cook on their 53-man roster the entire season last year to protect his rights to keep him.

It is funny, if I am reading their history correctly, both started their college Careers as QBs..

 

I said this a couple weeks ago and this new OC keeps bringing in ex Falcon and ex Titan players like they are the only football players he knows.
Tomlin is like ok, do whatever you want.
Would rather have just gave Boyd an extra million or 2.
The team is probably going to draft a bunch of unknowns on offense too.

 

But he didn't have much time under Smith.

 

Camp fodder except Patterson.

 

wouldn't mind some db,s from Falcons.
