I'd of thought the percentage would be higher after the up and down season.must be the descendants of Chuck Norris still clinging to life skewing the numbers

69.73 when I voted no. It was clearly time for Troy to end it. He's one of my all time favorites and his Fathead will forever adorn my wall but he's just a shell of his former self and was honestly more of a liability than an asset.

He's the kind of guy, where if he'd been up for it, I'd have kept him around just to toss him over the line on field goals and goal line runs. But it was time to hang 'em up, even if only for his own health. I'd hate to see him die young from all the hits.

Well, according to the site the poll ends 01/01/01, so there's still 85 years or so to drive it down a bit.

Fans are voting with their hearts. I'm not going to condemn them for that. Not going to agree either.

70.27% in the affirmative when I voted. Yeah, fans are cray cray. Loved Troy, but it was time to hang it up.

Exactly what I was going to post. He is, and always will be one of my favorites, and I can see why people are voting with their hearts, but it was time to move on.

Loved Troy guy was flat out the man but if you watched a game you could see he just was a shell of his old self last year. Sorry to have to say that as he was one of my favorites to watch, now if you are a fan and don't care about winning yeah you let him come back but if your a fan and want to win you had to vote no. I really hope Troy don't have hard feelings towards the Steelers cause now it becomes even more about Troy and us fans then it becomes about Troy and the Steelers.

Look at Peyton Manning, he's what a player looks like when they hang around 1 year too long, when older players production and injury history gets evaluated by a coaching staff they have to save that player from himself, better to tell Troy it was time to retire than to see him go out on a stretcher.....

The defense would not be as good as it is this year with Troy. Love the guy but he lost a step and it cost us a couple times last season. I will always consider him as one the greats though because in his prime years he was difference maker.

I'm guessing 70% of Steelers fans often wonder why there's chunks in their milk...

Old Charles Woodson is still bringing the pain though. He has apparently been hurt a ton this year though and is just playing though it. I can't stand his team but I really do like him.

I love troy but it was his time. One more season would've just have delayed the inevitable.

I was tired of seeing receivers run away from Troy for the last 1 1/2 years he played.
If we kept Troy we lose to the Chargers and Raiders. The rams may have beat us and the Bengals would have killed us. I see 3 more losses if Troy stayed. I loved him but it was time for him to retire. No shame there. The Marine Corps told me at 30 I had to go, well that was the law then. If I had 30 right now I may have been able to stay in another 12 years. I would be required to still pass the PFT and don't know if I would have made it another 12. In that case they would have just said, you better retire now.
