    Are you watching his game?

Spotted the ball on the wrong yardline
    Bad PI call on Taylor
    Missed PI call on Taylor
Missed PI call on throw to Brown

The regular guys aren't perfect either. Far from it.

And another missed call that would have given the Steelers another play and yet silence.

I almost never complain about the Refs because their job is tough enough. However, this has been some of the worst officiating I've seen in quite some time.

Sometimes I wish Tomlin would get after the refs a little more, you know, fight for his team. I could be missing a lot of action though since the TV angles never really highlight the coaches and what they are doing.

Refs were easily as bad if not worse than the replacement refs today.

Im fine with letting them play...but let them all play....not just one side.

Eagles D and O were mugging Steelers all day...and not one call....I can see missing a few of them...but all of them?

I try not to be a homer and complain about refs but man, on 4 plays the Steeler recievers were mugged, and not a single call. During a blitz arry foot was grabbed and then pulled and finally wrestled to the ground and no holding call but the hit on the Eagles TE by Clark was a good hit, the whistle wasn't blown and he had the ball and was trying to get more yards, that was a clean hit.

I tihnk he does - through comments, a bit of backchat, that kind of thing. If you ever look at the NFL films-type coverage of the games, he is doing that kind of tihng.

But this also comes back to those who want to see Tomlin jumping up and down and screaming. He's just not going to do that. And I remember Cowher talking about how bad he felt after that time he shoved the photo in the refs pocket - that it wasn't the way to do things. Personally, I think there's more dignity in Tomlin's approach, and it's not like there's significant difference in how the calls fall either way.

Unless, of course, you are Tom Brady, or (the other week) Santonio Holmes, who seem to be able to get flags thrown through jedi mind trick or something.

My PI score: 4-1 in favor of the Eagles. Ike Taylor got away with that one early in the game on Maclin (and I was definitely NOT impressed with Ike's missed tackles and hit-and-miss coverage today)...they got away with 4 throughout the game. These are blatant ones (the announcers commented on all but one of them) and not the ticky-tack ones that could go either way (and there were a few of those as well).

We definitely shot ourselves in the foot many times today too.

    I'll take the win though.

We're still in this thing if we can fix a few things and avoid the injury bug.

the big difference though is the pace of the game, even if they make a bad call which i felt they did many times today none of them slowed down the game. they didnt talk about it for 5 minutes...

No one ever said they were perfect, still light years ahead of the scabs that were in. And yes, that was a PI on Ike.

    Really?

The scabs were under a microscope and mistakes were harped on. The regulars get a passing mention of "he got away with one there."

Yes, really. Why are we still talking about this? The refs are going to continue to make mistakes, it's part of the game, lets move on. The replacements made the games unwatchable, they needed a conference and slide ruler to figure everything out. And as I said before, there's no one else to turn to now, this is what we got and without a doubt I feel they are much better then what we had.

    Exactly...

The rules need to lose some of the complexity, and they need to get full time refs. I didn't think the replacements were all that bad with the exception of the flow of the game, but I also was never a fan of the regular refs before the lockout.
