I mean, the players enjoying playing for him was never Tomlin's shortcoming lol weird post.

 

He probably gives them all a puppy if they make the playoffs. What he gives them for winning the game remains a mystery.

 

Who doesn’t like the cool teacher who is a pushover and lets you do whatever you want? Yea good cheerleader guy like Terry called him all those years ago. Dead on.

 

Well Queen is certainly an awesome addition and him wanting to play for MT is great can’t argue that.

 

The best coaches in NFL history were NOT players coaches. That's about all that needs to be said. They chewed butts, benched top players periodiocally and practiced them until they threw up.

 

Now if Tomlin can turn these players from fans to winners?!.... got something there for sure.

 

Do you think Andy Reid is a "players' coach"? The guy is in commercials with his players, after all. He's a first ballot Hall of Fame coach and probably the best in the league right now. He didn't seem to chew out or bench Travis Kelce after he practically ran him over in the Super Bowl. Sure seems like a players' coach to me.

Reid is a players coach but he is also a great offensive minds...One of the best ever

 

I was correct. I fully expected you to refuse any other opinion, especially if it conflicts with you own cuddly, incorrect notions. Thank you, you need to try again.

 

Andy Reid is a well-respected coach AND players seem to like him. Before he won a few super bowls, I don't recall any notion of being a players coach (never noted in Philly) so winning does improve things.

He is an exception, go back and review all SB winning coaches, and you'll find precious few that were thought of as player friendly. Tomlin is a cheer-leader, but his on-the-field abilty is awful. It's why we routinely get out-coached aganist equal or lesser teams come playoff time. This goes back 15 years too, not just during Ben's decline. We lost games where we were clearly the better talent team. I'd much rather have a gruff HC that puts in the work and schemes to exploit another teams weakness. I'd also like to see an HC that sees what the opponent will likely try to do to scheme against our weakness and counter that. We do not have that type of HC and it shows.
