They only need 1 loss by the Jets to control their own fate with wins over Baltimore and Cleveland.

The Jets still have to play vs New England (who has something to play for - a 1st round bye and/or HFA) and at Buffalo, who will be in the playoff race until week 17 if they keeping winning (Philly, Wash, Dallas).

If the Steelers win out, they're in even if the Jets and KC win out too.

I didn't like our chances today with both KC and the Jets schedule but I do believe the Jets will lose to either New England or Buffalo and we will win the tiebraker over them at 10-6. The Steelers are still in good shape to get in. KC has now won 7 games in a row after winning today. I still don't think they are that good. It's a shame we lost to them without Ben.

    Jets suck
    They will lose

    Eifert and dalton out

There definitely were games this year the Steelers should have won. But I prefer to beat Denver and keep pressure on Cincy and the Jets

Their back up looked pretty good. There's no way the Bengals lose out to 49ers, Broncos, and Ravens. I'm sure Dalton will be back for the playoffs. Broken thumb shouldn't be more then 3-4 weeks - in the worst case. We need to win out and the jets need to lose. I can see the Jets losing to the patriots..but I have a hard time believing we're going to win out.

Steelers can beat the Broncos. This is a very winnable game, since it's at Heinz Field. If it was in Denver... I'd be worried.

I hope it works out that we lock up a wildcard before the last game so we can use it as our "bye" week.

I don`t think the Bungles can lose enough to give us a chance to take division.

The #5 seed seems to have value if we can get it. Only hope is Raiders beat KC (and we win out) IMO.

I'm not a hand doctor nor did I stay in a Holiday Inn express last night but in what world is a broken thumb not a big deal for a position where you use your hand. Grip strength will be lessened, not to mention the constant banging into it under center or catching snaps in the shotgun. How is that healed in a month.

I don't see us losing to Denver. I'm betting it with a normal size bet and I'm not worried about giving the 6 points. This will be 4 in in a row winning on the bets so things are on target.

It's all a publicity stunt - he's done this year for all the obvious reasons you mentioned - even if they rush him back for the playoffs (should they make it that far) he'll be rusty and hampered (think BB in SF two years ago) - they're just trying to keep their fan base together and still show up at games and not join RealSteel on "the ledge". IMHO - I hope they all have a blast on and over the ledge.

There is a scenario where.... if the last spot comes down to the Jets and Steelers at 10-6..... the Jets can win the tie-breaker..... if their only loss is to Dallas. Still way to many games to decide who is in and where.

My concern is that the Steelers' AFC record is not great when compared to the Jets and the Chiefs. They will most likely need the better overall record to lock up a wild card.

The Steelers know what is on the line for this game the same way they knew what was on the line for the Bengals game. I expect they will play their A game and win this one just like last Sunday. All they have to do to get a wild card spot is to win out. Seems pretty simple.

If we win out, we are in. 100% sure of it. We have 3 AFC opponents left, and the Jets have 2. If both teams go 11-5 they will have identical conference records. The next tiebreaker is common opponents, which we win mainly because we beat the Raiders and the Jets did not.

Yeah if we win out we are absolutely in and even if the Jets win out and we do they are the odd man out. We HAVE to keep winning to control our own destiny though. We are actually the ones that are gonna decide if the Jets get in.

Bummer. I was hoping to see Manning in person ... before he's gone.
