Even after an 0-3 start the Steelers control their own destiny

I had to go back and re-check your statement Glenn but indeed your are correct. The remaining schedule doesn't look all that imposing. And after yesterday the Rams have been majorly exposed. And of all years NOT to have Denver on the schedule. Oh well.

So now - in the right light - and if I squint a certain way - I can optimistically say that (assuming they get their schmidt together starting tonight) the Steelers may be the best "oh-fer" team in the AFC if not the NFL. Have to say, you're so much more convincing than that Glemm dude.

 

And then to find out it's only a ha'penny at that.

 

Preparation is the key word. If we manage to lose against Cincy at home on Monday night the blame will fall on the coaches and deservedly so. Unless the players blatantly screw up left and right, this is a game I expect to be won with how we went about our plan during the week. To me it will be obvious right in the beginning how we spent our week of practice. Is it too much to ask to come out sharp on O(prepared) and tenacious on D(prepared)?

Regarding sharing your "optimism", it seems that no matter what flavor "Cool-Aid" I imbibe, I'm still consumed with ambivalence about this 2019 team. But the fact that air can blow in one ear and out the other means I'm keeping an open mind about things.

Thing is that will be hard. Teams dont respect our passing game so they will continue to stack the box and put the ball in Mason's hands. He will have to be the one to lead the team back into the mix.
