I've been hearing that, and waiting for it, since the Jags playoff loss. (not hearing it from you, obviously)

Even tho the North is bad the Steelers are worse.. Ppl who think the Steelers still have a chance just need to stop, there a bad football team.. The game tomrw night is to see who's gonna finish in the basement nothing more. Don't care if there a game out there bad and that's not changing. Just stop

It’s difficult to see where the spark is going to come from on offence but the Steelers still have a chance. If Rudolph finds his feet and they get a few wins anything is possible.

I probably have a better chance at hitting the Mega Millions jackpot on Friday night and then the Powerball jackpot Saturday night.

Tell me what's one thing that the Steelers do well.. Besides suck. there's pretty much nothing.. Pass rush maybe? Executing extra points?

I think the “we suck” BS is overblown. The combined record of our opponents is 10-1. We’re breaking in a QB who had zero NFL snaps in his career before having to try and beat a good Seahawks team in relief, and then win on the West Coast vs. a pretty good defense. The team has flaws, but so does every other team trying to compete with the Pats and Chiefs. There’s no reason we can’t compete with the rest of those teams and string together enough wins to get in. Do I think it will happen? It’s probably less than a 50/50 chance, but I’m still thinking playoffs right now.

It needs to start tomorrow night though. If we can’t beat the Bengals at home, we’re going nowhere. I feel confident enough in tomorrow’s game that I picked us in the survivor pool.

That's not the point. Point is they have a chance. How much of a chance is debatable. The fact that they do have a chance is not.

My optimism is fueled as much by the mediocrity of the rest of the AFC as it is by my belief that we’re better than how we’re currently playing. A few teams among the AFC also-rans will get hot enough to make it. We have a recent history of streaks: 9 in a row in 2016-17, 10 of 11 in 2017-18. That was with Ben at QB, but I think there are fewer true AFC contenders now than in those seasons. I am not counting us out yet.

If the Steelers lose on MNF to the Bengals at home then stick a fork in them, they will be done. It's gonna be a better game than the current eye right now. A game that will have to be won in the trenches. Their Dline is no joke.

I think Dalton gets roughed up though and that's enough for the Steelers to win.

I think Dunlap may be out. Other than Atkins their other guys on the dline are pretty banged up.

I'm surprised by the firing of Hurdle. I thought I read earlier in the week that he would be back next year and once I saw your post I started looking at the news. The Pirates GM and owner are horrid. Notify him an hour before the season finale and give him the opportunity to coach the last game and he declined. If they didn't have the balls to fire him during that bad 3 weeks being outscored 110 to 4 or whatever it was then let him finish the season and then fire him.

I will settle for a simple win right now. We can talk about controlling our own destiny once they string a few together. Right now, this team can’t get out of its own way. Let’s see what team shows up against a winless cincy team.
