You won't believe it but actually the other day on NFL Network Warren Sapp said that he thought Bell was gonna be the rookie rb that made the biggest splash this year. He said he just thinks he fits the mold of the old school Steeler back. If Warren Sapp was ever gonna be right I hope this is the time he actually starts.

That is a refreshing read. My favorite line- "What Bell does best is steamroll defenders. He's a pallet of bricks personified." Love that.

Definitely the first time I've seen anyone call his pass protection "sensational." Before now I'd read and heard things in the range of "good" to "ok but needs work". Personally I think he'll be fine, but I wasn't that impressed.

I thought that was a great line, too... It certainly wasn`t meant as an insult...;)
But, as much as I agree that we MIGHT have hit the jackpot here, we gotta remember... the kid hasn`t played a game yet,
And no matter how good the writer of that article was with words,
he ALSO called Dwyer and Redman, "Obviously flawed" runningbacks..
    He MIGHT be right..
Kinda reminds me of a recent thread, where we basically said.. "Yeah our team has it`s flaws, but WE are the only ones allowed to point them out"...
Dwyer and Redman are no slouches, and to just ASSUME that Bell is gonna come into camp and blow them outta the water, is a HUGE assumption...that only STEELER fans are allowed to make!!(HAHAHA...)...
Personally, I am rooting for him. Seems like a safe bet...
But the memory of Limas Sweed is still too fresh in my mind, to automatically dismiss Redman, and Dwyer, as nobodies...
In short, just because the writer of that article is good with words, doesn`t neccessarily mean he knows what he`s talking about!!!
I did like his mention of Ben as being "consistentley underrated", Tho, and his assesment of our line as being poised to make "signifigant strides"...
Hope he`s right, and everything he said, makes sense... I guess I am just tired of being burned by having too high of hopes...
Here`s hoping those hopes materialize this year, with Trophy #7!!!:herewego!:

I too liked the quote that TTF pointed out. In watching Bell this would be a good description. I know the Hawkeyes have been down lately but we have always had some decent defenses. This kid, at times, made them look silly and we weren't the only team. I'm hoping big things from him. I don't "pimp" many players but I have been him and would hate to have to eat my words and I mean REALLY would hate to have to eat them!

I liked this p/u a lot. I can't wait to see him but I'm thinking over the long haul. He well adjusted, has a running style conducive to our line, and is built to last.

I really like this draft pick and hope he can be our next Franco for years to come.
