I hate to say this, but if any receivers are products of the system, it is the Denver WRs. We talked about the reporter saying that about A. Brown, but look at the Denver receivers. Manning made Eric Decker look like a superhero. Now Sanders goes there and "the light went on". No, let's see him come back to earth when Manning retires. It will happen. It isn't him, Manning is just that good when he is on. Manning IMO, is probably the best at finding a weakness in a D and then just exploiting it again and again.

Not to mention he throws very catch-able balls...not always the tightest spiral, but not blasted like Farve used to do.

I think you have to give some credit to Sanders here guys, Yes Manning is going to make him look good but Sanders is doing a lot after he is catching those balls. Anyone who thought he wouldn't thrive in Denver was fooling themselves. Last season you could see his frustration level rising there were times he could have gotten the ball on a quick slant and made some serious YAC but for whatever reason Ben wouldn't make the throw until Sanders was well done with his route. Don't hate on the guy for having success in a system that allows him to do something he is good at which is making things happen after he catches the ball. Oh yeah and he can catch despite the misconception that he drops the ball a lot.

    This.
The Steelers can get a comp pick for Manny going to Denver, right?More value he has for them, the more value the Steelers get.

I knew it was Ben's fault! :lolol:

Do you want to guess where Sanders ranks in "yards after the catch", or should I tell you? What the heck, I'll tell you. He's tied for 87th in the NFL in YAC yards with 105 YAC.

He's actually on pace to have fewer YAC yards this season than he had last season (303 YAC) ... here ... with Ben.

    2014 YAC: http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/p...ivingYardsAfterCatch/qualified/false/count/81

    2013 YAC: http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/p...AfterCatch/year/2013/qualified/false/count/41

ES has been very clear about what it is that makes P. Manning an exciting QB for a young, emerging WR to work with.

Colbert blew it he should've let Sanders go to New England and took that third round pick for him, the Steelers weren't going to re-sign him anyway.

"Colbert blew it" - there has been a lot of that feeling the last 4-5 years.

    A 3rd is better than a 4th.

Yep. And before that he was a player personnel genius. Couldn't seem to miss on a draft pick or a free agent. :hmmm:

We were too thin to let Sanders go to NE. Who were we going to stick in there, Moye??? (oh geeze, now I've done it)

We could've went Moye and Brown in that scenario and ended up worse or possibly better, but had a full demo of what's to come.

Would we... was his contract that big... I can't recall off the top of my head? Wallace got paid serious coin to get that nice comp pick. Usually the comp pick aren't that high.

That wasn't my point. I expected him to be awesome in Denver, but again...so was Eric Decker. Manning understands how to get the most out of his skill set, but I still believe that when Manning is done, you will see Sanders go back to the guy he was here in Pitt.

Cotchery? The Steelers were fooling themselves last season thinking they were contenders take the draft pick and move on.

Cotch isnt a number 2, he's barely a 3, he had a career year last season, lets not get carried away with him. And even if you went with Cotch, who's your 3?

Get to the playoffs, anything is possible. Steelers will never do a total rebuild. Only fans who have nothing vested in the team make suggestions like that.

Taking a 3rd round pick over a guy you're simply going to let walk isn't a total rebuild. Sanders was never going to be the difference between us winning the SB and not winning the SB. It was stupid for us to turn that down.
