I believe the source is much like the draft position, wasted roster spot and other much debated misconceptions. It is that the side taken relies greatly on each person's personal view and how they look at the team.

As I see it:
- Everyone likes the preseason UDFA hero
- Some people like to call the UDFA hero early
- In this case, though, just about everyone called Rogers, so it wasn't really a call
- As a result, now some people are making more extreme claims in order to make it more of a call

Something like that.

On the upside, when the major bone of contention amongst a fanbase is whether a receiver somewhere between 3 and 5 on the depth chart can reach block or not, you have to feel fairly confident about where our offense is right now.

Too late. Wheaton has shown flashes, but for the most part, it's been on the outside. From what I can remember, he's never really looked good in the slot. So far, Rogers has looked more than capable in the slot. We might as well give Rogers a chance to succeed over a guy who has shown he can't get it done in that role. Pre-season is still football. Let Rogers show he either can or can't get it done

 

No different than Frank Summers and Redman (was his first name Isaac?). People seem to love these guys that come out of nowhere. I normally don't, but I want to see Rogers get a chance.
