I have a couple of concerns about going D in the first round.

Nose Tackle....why would we do this? We already have 2 guys from last year's draft that I think the FO is pretty high on.

Defensive End....we have used 2 picks here in the last few years. Unless we truly believe that one of them is going away or that McLendon couldn't slide over in an emergency, I don't see the point.

ILB...Foote and Timmons are the starters. I could see us using a pick here.

OLB...I worry about what drafting a guy like J. Jones says to Worilds. For that matter to Carter and Robinson. At the moment, I would be okay with the pick as prior to his injury reports they were talking top 3 for him, but I don't like what it says.

S...we need depth here, but no more so than we need at WR or RB or OL and I think the talent will be there in the later rounds for us. I also wouldn't be surprised if we took a gamble in the next year or 2 on a Clark type...someone who is a UFA on another team who they are going to let walk, who fits our system.

CB....we have 3 and a couple of guys who are young already. I could see us taking someone, but I doubt it is in round #1.

To me on D, you look at J. Jones or an ILB in the first round. On offense, you look for BPA which creates mismatches. I don't think WR or RB have anyone who fit that bill as a first round pick. I could see an Olineman, if they fall fitting with what we want. QB isn't a need in any way shape or form nor is there a 1st round worthy pick at all in the QB class as far as I'm concerned.

To summerize, I expect our 1st round pick to be one of the following:

    J. Jones
    Inside Linebacker
    T. Eifert
    Offensive Lineman

My ideal, trade back to about 25 and get some additional picks.

hes not getting past the the top 10. hes a game changer and we are in the time of the game changing TE. if hes there when the Steelers pick they have to take him. Miller is great, but hes closer to the end than the beginning and the knee injury pushed him even closer to the end.

im not saying Miller wont still be very good. mostly because he never was a burner and speed isnt part of his strength, but power is and a bad knee might effect that part of his game. we all can see what Gronkowski and Hernandez and some of these other big fast TE's can do and what they bring to the table. if that kind of guy is ther for the Steelers they would be foolish not to take him, but like i said hes not making it past the 10th pick.

Based on what I have seen he is capable and willing. The question then becomes how hard is he going to work at getting better at it. Everything to me says, I am going to be good at this. I really like the kid.

Eh...line him up in the slot every down and keep Heath/Speath back to block. Passing downs we'll have Brown, Sanders, Eifert and Heath running all over the field...cover that bia!!

regarding the guy talking about Lucas Reed, I looked at his bio and 5 receptions for 12' and 22 in 11?
