The stat that jumped out to me was in 79 career starts Edmunds has a grand total of zero forced fumbles. That's almost impossible for that to happen. You think that maybe even once he would cause someone to stumble and the ball would come out. At least he had a bunch of interceptions and sacks, oh wait no he had only 5 picks and 5 sacks in 5 full seasons. In other words he was one of the least impactful safeties in the NFL the last 5 years.

Hopefully this move works out for Edmunds. He wasn't great but he was rarely injured, played hard, and improved.

Edmunds signed for less money to play with the Eagles this year than what Pittsburgh would have offered him.

Edmunds signed a 1 year $2 million contract. $600 thousand fully Guaranteed.

If the Steelers would have given him the same type of “Four-Year Player Qualifying Contract.” as last year his contract would have been for $2.58 million in 2023, with only a $1.2 million cap hit. $152 thousand fully guaranteed as this is the maximum allowable signing bonus for these 4-year qualifying contracts.

Edmunds left $580 thousand on the table to go to Philadelphia. Either the Steelers never offered him a new contract, or he was worried about getting cut before the season began.

If I remember correctly, there are easily-attainable incentives in his deal with the Eagles that could make it worth a lot more.
