Is the game on Thursday going to be Nationally televised? Every year it seems like we have at least 2 or 3 preseason games on TV

I don't believe so. It will be aired on NFL Network the next day.

Which game is it where the starters play most of the first half?

Usually the 1st and 3rd pre-season game, but anything can change. The 4th pre-season game is the worst, the starters play about one series, then they are out, but I think it's mainly due to make sure no one gets hurt before the reg season opener, plus the get the final look at the on the bubble guys who are going to make the 53 man roster.

I agree with all of this, except I wouldn't throw the 1st game in with the 3rd. Usually starters get 1 or 2 series in the 1st game, a little more (maybe a quarter) in ithe 2nd game, almost a half in the 3rd game, and almost nothing in the 4th game. But like you said, anything can change and it depends on the player.

I'm gonna have to avoid this website and TV like the plague Thursday night, because I won't be able to watch until Friday. :(

You might be able to via justin.tv or one of those other streaming sports channels.

Picture is never great but it beats watching synchronized swimming.

I disagree. The 1st Game is the worst because the roster is still at 90 and SO many camp fodders/arms/bodies or whatever has to play more in order to feel out you'll be on the 1st cut list which will be sorted out the following weeks in camp. The starters play but a little and they mix 1st/2nd and 3rd teams to determine position flexibility and what to work on in camp.

The 3rd game is best to get a feel of how the team will look ( starters & primary backups ) going into the season. I actually like the 4th game ( most notably the 1st half of it ). Reason being most players who have no chance are already gone. What's left are guys on the bubble with one last chance to impress. Who'll be the surprise 53-man roster or the suprise cut or who'll make a case for the PS or just plainly cut. What vet becomes expendable due to a youngsters unexpected play.

I was at the 4th game vs. the Panthers a few years back. Stefan Logan broke a KO for a TD. I turned to my wife and said " he just made the team" and in the end he did just that.

Here's something to watch in the 1st game, the name Johnson!! First up is QB Johnson. Can he be our 3rd QB replacing either Batch or Lefty? Secondly is FB Will Johnson. Has he already won the job or will he win it this game? Third is David Johnson, is he still in the race for FB or is he now fighting for a roster spot as a TE?

I don't know about synchronized swimming but women's beach volleyball is right up there with the NFL preseason, and maybe just maybe a tad higher. Not counting Steelers games of course.
